Not my idea of Southie Hospitality. Spent parade day at this bar. Bouncers were openly advertising they needed to kick people out of the bar so that more people could be allowed in generating more cover charges ($20/person). While the wait staff was friendly and very attentive considering the crowds, they could not outshine the repulsive behavior of the bouncers.

Southie Gem. This place is great for food, people or sports watching. My wife and I moved from Beacon Hill where we went to the Hill Tavern all the time when we were looking for good food but weren't in the mood for something fancy and expensive. The Playwright Bar & Cafe is just as good if not better! Nice, friendly staff...we'll definitely be back.

Popular South Boston bar and cafe serves as a relaxed setting for grabbing a pint or an affordable bite.. In Short
One of Southie's most welcoming hangouts provides area residents with a handsome spot for grabbing a bite of watching the game (there are plenty of TVs in the bar area and the dining room). The sprawling, multi-ethnic menu runs the gamut from pizzas and pastas to burgers and fajitas. Weekend brunch, served from 10:30am-3pm, attracts strong crowds.

Good Sportsbar plus underrated food... This place is a great place to catch a game and enjoy food. The pizzas are especially good, I think. Nice beer selection and friendly staff only add to the place.

A Southie Secret. "Best of Boston" bartender Brian is always good for a chuckle & if that don't make you laugh - Fitzy's 70's dance moves will! The food is as good as Tommy's Irish "crack" and Kendall & Sarah's good looks can be distracting when trying to watch a game on one of the numerous big screens!

How u doin?
