I had attempted the road tests previously during

my college days, almost 5 yrs ago and did not make

it. Subsequently I had resigned to the belief that

driving is not for me, until I decided to give it another

try recently.

I was searching for driving schools in the Cambridge area

and heard about Durant and Love driving school. All I can

say is that every accolade he has received on this

web site is absolutely true. He is a truly gifted instructor ---

extremely patient but knows when to challenge the student when

required.

I took 10 lessons from him. I only had a month left before leaving

Massachusetts, so I had to book my lessons in batch. I had to be

very quick in booking his lessons as the slots get filled up

very quickly. Perhaps there are many people like me out there :)

Durant unfortunately cannot help you much if you are late in signing up.

He is always on time (even 5 mins earlier) and even accommodated some of my requests

to change lessons whenever possible. Now that I think about it, he is probably under so much pressure, since

he is a single person managing the whole driving school. But he was always

cheerful with me and spent minimal time over phone.

Durant taught me all the tasks I needed for the test in the first five

lessons. We were really starting from scratch.

The remaining 5 lessons were used to refine these tasks so that I could perform

these tasks smoothly during the test. Despite all his help, I was totally

nervous on the day of the road test and was even hesitant to take the test.

Durant let me make my own decision, although in retrospect it would have

cost him time as he had reserved that slot for me. Nevertheless he appreciated it when I decided to take the test and was very proud of me when finally I passed!!!

• Cons: hard to find slots if you do not plan ahead

Amazing place to learn how to drive

Durant will tell you what you need to know to pass the test. He has his own driving methods that he wants to pass down on to you. He won't turn on the radio while you are paying him to learn how to drive. He comes in on time and would be flexible to work on your time if needed.

Excellent teacher to take driving lessons

I took driving lessons with Durant, and he taught me everything I need to know to pass the road test on my first try! He taught me at my pace, and helped me fix some of the mistakes I was making. For e.g. I was very lousy at backing the car straight, and pulling to the side of the road making sure the car was close to the curb. He helped me fix these mistakes by teaching some of his "techniques". He also talks about the common mistakes that his previous students have made which had resulted in them failing the test. I guess that helped me a lot and I always tried not to repeat the same mistakes.

He's very punctual and has a great sense of humor. I would totally recommend Durant for driving lessons.

Great Teacher, Kind Man

Durant was extremely patient and kind with me. He was always on time. I am a working adult, and he made time to work early in the mornings or after the workday so that I could fit in my lessons. I began my lessons feeling timid and scared. Durant just has you drive, and drive until you feel comfortable, then he will present you with a challenge or teach you a new skill. I took approximately ten lessons with Durant, and by the last lesson I felt like a ready, competent driver. I passed my driver’s exam on the first try. If anything, I think Durant over prepares you. He is hard. But patient. Durant also has a sense of humor. He really just wants to pass the time in a light, enjoyable way. I was very pleased to have him as my teacher.

Although I have been driving for more than 5 years in the UK, I felt that I still need to get used to the rules here in US. So I chose Love Driving School because of excellent review over the internet. I did 10 hrs lessons with Durant. He was so patient. I learned a lot especially the parallel parking and Durant really broke it down into steps so it was easier for me to understand. Durant was also my sponsor during the test. I passed the road test on first attempt! :-)

good place for learning how to drive

love driving school is a good driving school. The teacher is kind and does his work. He gives lot of remarks to the driver, teach the proper driving technics, gives tips about the exam and is honest. In the other hand, his teaching technics are kind of slow. If you already know how to drive, but just you need a quick refresh, it isn't going to be quick. He wants to teach you all the details, and even adds some more rules. For example, he told me I need to learn how to drive without using mirrors, because in the day of the exam I won't be allowed to use mirrors. The day of the exam, the first thing the examiner tells is to adjust the mirrors. I was very confused because I thought I shouldn't be using mirrors to drive, but they are there to be used while driving. In addition, he doesn't give good explanation. Whenever I asked why I should be doing something, his explanation was because this is what you need to do in order to succeed in the exam. I had to follow on the question to make him give me the proper explanation. After all, I did get my driver license although it took more lessons than I expect. Also, the exam was kind of frustrating, but it is over... yeah!!!

Not good for girls/Women

Durant has a bad habit of talking sarcastically and is very mean. He makes a woman feel uncomfortable with his sarcastic jokes which intend something bad. He NEVER answers your questions on driving properly. The only good part is he is on time. As a woman, I warn other girls and woman about taking his classes. Especially late night driving classes. His eyes are evil. Sometimes, I feel frightened.

I have never met the worst instructor before!!

I know I'm a beginner. so, I standed so many times what he's yelling. but the more i took lessons, the harder I couldn't drive becouse he made me feel nervous. I really don't understand why people recommanded him....he's a really mean. and always talked to me about money.

seriously i recommand the special driving instructor who has a "patience". you can find him below the line.

Durant is a very experienced driver who tells you exactly what you need to know to drive defensively and pass the test. I was already driving from a foreign country and Durant was able to teach me all the things I needed to know to transform my driving habits and I passed the road test on my first try. If you want to learn good driving skills and pass the test without pain then Love driving school is the choice for you.

A very very unsatisfied customer!

The worst driving instructor ever! I highly do not recommend this driving school! Very unpleasant with me, not willing to answer questions about the rules of the road. Instead he would answer with irony what do you think or read the handbook? As a student learning how to drive it was an extremely unpleasant experience since I felt that any question I would ask would be considered stupid by my driving instructor! So I'm paying someone to teach me how to drive but my instructor appears more concerned by my money than the actual teaching. I will always remember the first time I met with Durant he told me straight up that money was his best friend. So with that type of mentality I do not understand who in anyones right mind would choose this driving school! I hope this review will be helpful for anyone in need of a driving school.

Excellent Driving Instruction

Durant at Love Driving School is a very patient instructor with a good sense of humor. I especially recommend him to anxious drivers, as he maintains a calm and cool temperament and has a number of good tips for reducing driving anxiety. Lessons are available from early in the morning well into the evening, are reasonably priced, and begin promptly at the scheduled time. My driving improved immensely with Durant, and I passed the licensing test on the first try.
