Delicious apps and good beer. I live right around the corner and just wanted to step out for a beer and a snack. Little did I know that I'd get one of the tastiest appetizers I've ever had in my life. It was cheese-based with bacon in it and unfortunately was a special for that day and not on their normal menu. That said, I've seen it there on other days though I can't remember the kind of cheese. It's very typical of some of the pubs I frequented back in London and had the perfect feel for a late-afternoon pint. Three of us got an array of appetizers and none of them disappointed. But if you see some gouda and bacon appetizer you better get it b/c you won't be sorry.

great atmosphere, good food, better beer!. I love the atmosphere here. It is lively, but not too loud. The waitstaff is great. The beer selection was more that satisfying, and the food is good as well. My only complaint would be that one time I went for lunch and got a ceaser salad, and it was pretty bad as far as salads go, but I guess I probably should have ordered one of there other tasty entrees that I know would have been better than good.

Great meeting spot. This is one of those good spots for meeting friends for a drink before heading out somewhere. Nice place for a quick nightcap if you are staying at the Lenox since it's right inside the hotel. Good service. Not a huge selection, but good prices, nice after work vibe.

A handsome, modern Irish pub and restaurant in the Lenox Hotel.. The Scene
While this Irish pub doesn't sport a lived-in feel, it certainly lives up to its name--"solas" means "comfort" in Gaelic (a fact prominently painted on a back wall). The street level bar attracts a fine after-work crowd, while the upstairs dining room offers a quiet, smoke-free place to catch up with friends. When crowded, the bar can be prohibitively noisy.

The Draw
The bar's selection of beers and spirits is nothing special, but the impressive food menu, influenced by Azure chef Robert Fathman, offers up several tasty bar snacks (mac-and-cheese with Irish cheddar and smoked ham). With a catchy Britpop soundtrack and several tiny flat-screen TVs tuned to sporting events, this is a good meeting spot, ideal for visiting prior to hitting Boylston Street's more popular bars.

Best curry fries!. We stepped into Solas on a winter day to escape from from the bitter cold and found warm cozy atmosphere and the best curry fries we have ever had. We will definitely be back!

Great atmosphere, terrible service. I've gone to this bar a couple of times and had a great time. Unfortunately, my last experience was ruined by the service. The bar was MODERATELY busy and I waited about 10 minutes for the bartender to serve me. Others at the bar were also commenting on the poor service level. If you're going to be slow at making drinks, at least do it with a smile. This guy was both slow and rude.

It lives up to its name -comfort. I really like this place. I was bummed when the Sam Adams moved out but now I'm psyched to have a great new place in the hood. The atmoshere is so comfortable - I've brought nice dates there and also gone with a couple of my buddies. Its got a really good vibe, very friendly - like an authentic upscale pub in Ireland. Food is actually very tasty and the drinks including lots of beer choices are reasonably priced. Some of the staff are friendly like you usually only find outside of major cities. You can't beat the location either. I'm impressed

Drink and be merrie..... This is a great place to go after work, knock down a couple of pints. Snacks are okay. The tables upstairs are very warm and intimate, nice place for a casual dinner with your lass, or some friends. On Friday and Saturday night the bar service leaves little to be desired, some times there may be only one fella tending the bar as the crowd is 3 or 4 deep. ( sometimes he might even forget you)

So if you go and need to be at a show or in a rush don't spend the time. If you want to relax with your mates and enjoy the sites this is your place.

Great Pub. Mellow atmosophere, grest crowd, and really good food (something different - not typical bar food). The place is great after work, but its a little small, so you need to find a table early. Its right on Boylston street, but its not a trendy club, or a drunken rowdy bar. A great place to just unwind with friends.
