I specifically chose this lounge because it was supposedly very romantic. Not so much. We walked in at probably 10:30 on a Saturday night. It was full of college students and the music was blaring. The place was tiny. I don't know. Everyone I was with was in disbelief that Noir was voted best anything. I didn't try their food because we had just eaten but they did have a very original and extensive (and expensive) drink menu. It just wasn't the atmosphere I was expecting or looking for. Don't go there if you're looking for romance.
Pros: yummy and original drinks
Cons: too small, too loud, not romantic, $12 drinks

This bar is pretty swanky compared to the rest of the square. It's a bit small, but is comfy and chill. Clientelle is a diverse crowd which is pretty cool.
Pros: only bar in cambrdige that servces alcohol after 1:30
Cons: a bit pricy

Agree with prior reviewers about the excellent (but expensive) drinks. The key is to show up between 5 and 7 p.m. on weeknights, when the food is all steeply discounted (everything $5 or less). Definitely worth a trip.
Pros: great atmosphere, reasonable pricing at happy hour
Cons: no nearby parking, slow service

Friendly service, great patio, and interesting cocktails. This place is a cool spot for a date or a place to start or end your night. Know most of the staff, they are knowledgable and fun. Only place in square open till 2am EVERY night. Not bad. Crowd gets a little rowdy late at night. For most part though, it's clientele comprised of hotel patrons and older people. Good martinis and cocktails. Recommended
Pros: service, patio, lighting
Cons: prices, a little superficial at times

I agree with the other reviewer regarding RUDE waitresses, but if you can get past that and I try to, being that the eats are great and reasonably priced at Happy Hour, between 5 and 7 pm, M-F, it's worth trying. Yes the drinks aren't cheap at $10, but everything's expensive these days! Hey if you get tude, give it back and then don't give a tip if you don't get excellent service. See you there!
Pros: Atmosphere, ambienece, Food and drink
Cons: The waitresses with the bad tudes!

Noir is a great neighbor spot I sometimes like to visit after work on my way home, but with such unpleasant attitudes, its very discouraging. Management, please ask your wait staff to lose the foul attitude.
Pros: Convenient Location & Special priced menu from 5-7pm, M-F
Cons: RUDE Waitresses & Pricy

Some friends and I went to Noir recently after dinner to have some coctails and dessert. Many of us wanted to get hot drinks, like coffee with Irish creme. We were very rudely told by the waitress that Noir "does not serve hot drinks." I guess the cold drinks go with the icy attitudes.

I've only ever been here for drinks, and it is perfect for a small group of good friends. Have some nice drinks, chat, etc. Kind of a New York feel, or at least the best one can do in the area.

First of all, the drinks were wonderful (I had the blue cheese-stuffed olive martini and a mojito). The food menu was WAY too short, though, a couple of sandwiches and salads. The mood was broken by the occasional gaggle of conventioneers wandering in from the hotel lobby. The prices were high, but not shockingly so, particularly for the exceptional drinks, but we expected more quantity, variety, and creativity from the food for the cost. The atmosphere and character of the place changes dramatically as the sun sets, very mysterious, visually striking with red lights, black seats and tables, mirrors, and dark shadows. All in all, I liked it a lot, but I think I'll eat somewhere else before going next time.
Pros: Great mood, Romantic, Wonderful drinks
Cons: Limited food menu, Expensive

This place knows how to care for their patrons. This is a bar full of diversity-costomers and staff. People there seemed to be having a great time. The staff is full of funny stories and jokes to keep us entertained, they are also great to look at! The dark atmosphere granted many couple to venture into the unknown! Alone or with a partner, it is a blast.
Pros: good crowd, friendly service, yummy food
Cons: expensive, no parking
