What exactly are you paying for?
by cityb115
Give me a break. All the marble and pseudo-art in the world does not make up for poor, snotty customer service. That is why customers pay top dollar to stay at such an establishment - for how they're treated, not the materiele of their surroundings. Stay at the Ritz, Taj, or Four Seasons. Get your money's worth. Enough said.
Not cheap but worth the money

I recently spent a weekend at the Nine Zero and the location of the hotel is great but the service could have been better. The hotel itself is in great condition and the beds are extremely comfortable. I would definately stay there again.
Best Location in Boston!
by hubriis
We love our Kimpton hotels!
Nine Zero actually began as a happy fluke when we arranged for a Boston hotel through Priceline. Imagine how ecstatic we were when we got the Nine Zero!
Check-in was quick and painless, and the room was absolutely gorgeous. Typical Kimpton style, modern and clean with a large room and bathroom...wonderful!!! The bed was absolutely one of the best we've slept in, and the entire staff was beyond helpful, cordial and pleasant.
Even better, the location is central to most historical things in Boston...steps from Boston Common. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
Located between Government Center and Downtown Crossing, this chic boutique hotel caters to high-brow, hi-tech clientele.

The Scene
Designed with upscale business-travelers in mind, Nine Zero has also accommodated many locals and tourists who've come to soak up a scene as hip as any in New York or London. Centrally located near the Financial and Theater districts, the hotel is steps from most tourist attractions. The ultrachic lobby, outfitted in steel and glass fixtures, is the most stylish in town.
The Details
All 190 sleekly designed rooms include personal work areas with cordless speaker phones, printer/copiers and free Internet access; 27-inch TVs and stereo systems with CD libraries; and uber-luxurious touches like satin hangers, custom linens and bath products, and fresh-ground coffee; several rooms have skyline views. For those interested in something less strenuous than the fitness center, personal shopping and driver services are available.
NINE ZERO - not for the light of wallet
by jetsetter24
We stayed at the nine zero for two nights. And although it was a very nice place to stay and a great location, I was highly disappointed that our "FANTASTIC" room (mid-level rate) did not have a bathtub! For 200 bucks a night I would have at least expected that. We did get a corner room however, which I would highly recommend requesting if available. Room service was tasty, although over-priced (but, that can be said for all hotels). I'd visit again, but this time I'll know to check if the room will have a tub.
- Pros: Room w/a view, attentive front desk, location
- Cons: Pricey
Boutique Want a Be.W not
by sjwalsh2
We found the hotel to be over priced and trying to look like a W hotel but ran out of money. The rooms were only average in size and the heath club was smaller than my closet at home. The staff lacked being attentive and we found service to be very slow checking in and having house keeping clean our room before returning from our activities. We would recomend to stay at a hotel with a Brand Name first.
- Pros: Location, Televisions
- Cons: Poor Service, Small Health Club, Poor Housekeeping
First Class Stay
by rkilbashian
I have stayed at NineZero twice and each time I left completely satisfied and looking for an opportunity to return. From the moment you arrive in the lobby you realize this place is unlike anyplace else. The decor is bright and modern. Dinner at Spire is absolutely a must! There is a fabulous wine menu and the food fantastic. Each time I stayed there I requested in advance a room with a view. The first time I was somewhat disappointed in the view and prior to returning I spoke with the front desk and they arranged for me to reserve a "corner" room.. These rooms are a little smaller but the view is incredible! The bed is the most comfortable that I've ever slept in by far. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
- Pros: Spire, Decor
Super Cool
by gordonjohnson
I just stayed in Boston on a business trip in Boston for 12 days and I was lucky enough to try the nine zero. A new guy on the block but the staff had it down. They were stylish, cool and attentive. The beds are worth the prices alone. Even though I worked hard, I felt pampered and well rested when I left. Great place, Nine Zero is where I will stay every time I am in Boston.
- Pros: Beds, Service, Decor
Nice Hotel, Poor Service
by dee_gee
The hotel itself is nice. The design is modern and chic. The rooms have some nice amenities.
The young-ish staff, on the other hand, seemed inexperienced. Wake-up calls and breakfast arrived late. A colleague's laundry was lost for several days. Maids knocked on doors at 8 a.m.
By far the worst experience of my stay was being bumped from my room. I awoke one morning to find my bill placed under the door. When I called to inquire why, I was told that my reservation had ended and that the hotel was fully booked for the evening. Incredulous, I asked the staff to look into this and fix what must have been a simple mistake. I was greeted with indifference, denials and blame. Worst of all, the staff made no attempt to rectify their error in any way, even by offering to find me a room at another hotel.
- Pros: Nice decor
Flash but little Substance
by barrettdavid
The restaurant was terrific, but wait staff and clientele was a bit overmatched. The room was small and terribly overpriced - I could have purchased my own fancy boom box for the difference! Little feeling of privacy in the room, nothing really substantively better than a basic hotel, at a really outrageous fee.
- Pros: Bar, Restaurant Menu
- Cons: , Price, Thin layer of style
