I bring my long haired, very fluffy cat here and get back a silky detangled one back. Susan, the owner, is very nice and offers very reasonable prices. Donata (sp?) is the cat groomer and she truly loves cats and they know it. My cat is very shy and is not fond of other animals around her, but when she is at Snippers as long as Donata is there, no problem. My cousin has had collies groomed there and they come home strutting their very soft coat. The size of the dog does not seem to be a problem either as my aunt's Great Dane has also been washed there. The one thing I know for sure is that after an animal is groomed there their coat tends not to mat up so quickly and it is easier to keep them groomed.
Pros: Can drop off and they do call when your pet is ready.
Cons: It might take two turns around the block to find a parking spot.

I never had a problem finding a groomer for my Silkie but my Yorkie would always come away with some comment about how difficult she was and a promise to charge extra the next visit. When I found Snippers I felt like I'd struck gold. I have been taking my dogs there for two years now and have never ever been less then pleased with the exceptional way that my dogs are handled.
Pros: Great service, reasonably priced, Happy pretty dogs.
Cons: none

Having three dogs (2 German Shorthaired pointers & a terrier mix), Susan and staff at Snippers allow me to bring all three in for their day of beauty - highly unusual for other shops. After leaving her shop, my kids' nails have been beatifully trimmed and grinded ,and their coats are shimmering and fragrant. Having had poor service at self-proclaimed, high-end facilities, I have devoted myself to Snippers for several years and have never been disappointed. With that said, I've had ample opportunity to view their response with seemingly upset or difficult dogs (even a few cats!), and all the critters say goodbye with a glistening coat and a happy smile. Snippers also carries a line of dog accessories, exceptional holistic products, organic dog food and fresh-baked doggie treats as well as some dental products that cost twice as much online. Clearly, I am a fan and longterm client of Snippers, however, it's through their hard work and personable approach with my dogs that that has endured. You owe it to your best friend to try Snippers - can't imagine why one would go elsewhere!
Pros: Snippers carries an array of dog accessories, organic food and holistic products.
Cons: N/A

Snippers has the best dog groomer in South Boston. Her name is Susan Abner and she is professional, compassionate, funny and kind with the animals. Her shop is clean and she is respectful to all of her 'children'. Please make it a point to check out Snippers, it is a real treat! You and your dog won't be disappointed.
Pros: Service and Ambience
Cons: None

Located at 524 Dorchester Ave. in South Boston, Snippers is owned and operated by Susan Abner and is the ONLY groomer in Boston certified by the AKC. We have a very difficult fox terrier who we have taken to multiple places only to have been asked not to return due to his bad behavior. But Susan and the staff at Snippers have this way with him. He is calm, relaxed, and receives the best service possible. We recently moved west of Boston, but we still make the drive into the City to go to Snippers because our dog loves it and we feel like he receives care here we couldn't get anywhere else. Snippers is truly a hidden gem located in South Boston. I highly recommend it!
Pros: Highest possible level of service and care for your dog.
Cons: While not Newbury st. or a trendy South End Bistro, the South Boston location is still very close to the City
