As a former "master" of Dahn Yoga, I feel compelled to set the story straight. The exercises and some of the concepts are beneficial. I know many people who experienced health benefits. Each Dahn Yoga center will be run somewhat differently depending upon the headmaster of the center. So some centers may not have the standard Dahn sales pressure. A member's experience will depend a lot on their headmaster. Yet my experience is that the negatives far outweigh the postives with Dahn. There are many masters out there who have great hearts and good intentions, in fact most started off this way. Unfortunately, the Dahn system is corrupt. The system is built upon disempowering the members AND masters so that they don't trust themselves. Members trust their masters above themselves and masters trust Ilchi Lee above themselves. Regular members probably won't hear much about Ilchi Lee. The organization has gone through great lengths to separate his name from the business, and yet he still controls the organization. He tells the masters what they need to ACHIEVE every year. He sets the goals (the VISION) and masters are taught to have the mentality to "achieve your vision or die." This is why masters will do anything to get a member to sign up for programs and pay a lot of money. I've seen crazy unethical actions performed by masters, but done with the zealous belief that their soul and the member's soul depends on it. Even if you just sign up to take "yoga" classes, the masters will always have a hidden agenda for how to save your soul through enrolling in Dahn programs. Dahn masters are encouraged to have a plan for each member and to focus on the members with the most "potential." Dahn yoga suffers from a case of spiritual arrogance. Ilchi Lee and Dahn masters truly believe that Dahn yoga is the only path for enlightenment. This is how they justify many deceptive and manipulative actions - the end justifies the means. Don't buy into it.
Pros: health benefits, sense of belonging
Cons: hidden agenda, manipulation

I am a member in Oregon Dahn Center, and I"m amazed that the quality of instruction, and care of the atmosphere and energy is consistant throughout, Boston to Portland. I've been taking classes over 3 years now, and I"m a Lifetime member. Honestly you cannot find this kind of quality healing and care at any studio. They will meet with you anytime, and talk heart to heart, and really give sincere effort to make each person feel warm and joyful. I'm very satisfied with my experiences here, and I'm also excited to see how much more involved Dahn Yoga is becoming in outreach and community service. Bravo!!! Kahmsahamnida!!!! ^*^
Pros: Great Class, wonderful joyful instructors, fun
Cons: I would love to have more class times avaliable, perhaps a noon class.

I found Dahn Yoga online and on the surface it seems like a great place but after doing a little more research on Dahn Yoga, going to the classes and looking into Dahn Yoga's founders it appears that the founder has no medical training and the classes are different from any other yoga I've taken. I'm not sure if the classes are beneficial. The people at the center are very nice and the classes are good but I think members maybe getting more then they bargained for: hugging before each class, tea after class, and there are several very expensive works shops they offer. Dahn Yoga has been called a cult and I'm a little wary. Just go in with your eyes open.
Pros: Interesting classes
Cons: Cult like, $100 a month

Over 6 years ago, I was physically sick all the time and was looking for a place to teach me to relax and meditate. I found Dahn Yoga and learned how to meditate and relax but I gained much more than this. Through their system, I learned how my habits effect how I feel, how healthy my body is, and how joyful my life is. At first, I wasn't ready to face these facts about myself. I left the center many times to pursue other healing modalities but always found myself back to Dahn Yoga. Eventually, I learned how to take care of myself and let go of everything that wasn't serving me. I was even able to heal my asthma! I am so thankful that Dahn Yoga was there to help me.
Pros: Unlimited classes, Customized training, Regular personal check-ups, Warm Ambience

i have studied many types of yoga and i have found nothing as comprehensive, effective, and fulling as Dahn Yoga. Dahn Yoga is so much more than just yoga actually, it is true mind body education, even more than that it is a type of life education that is so necessary - how to manage our thoughts, emotions, stress, relationships... and ultimately how to create our dreams into reality! Dahn Yoga has truley given me the tools i have needed to create the life i always wanted but had no idea how to approach. I recommend Dahn Yoga for everyone, no matter your age, or ability... you will find something very special!!
Pros: the instructors are really knowledgeable and eager to help members learn and grow
Cons: not enough dahn centers - when will one open on the south shore??

I really wish more people would know about this! It changed my life from being one of dependence to self-reliance and confidence. Through awakening my own inner sensitivity and strength I now approach the obstacles in my life with optimism, and it has produced real results, like finally being able to have stable relationships.
Pros: The staff have a knack for how to really help you
Cons: Is not so well known.

Dahn Yoga is a completely transformative program! I have been searching for something like this my entire life and I cannot believe it actually exists! I have healed my body, opened my mind to overcome my limitations, found a healing and inviting community, and empowered myself to follow my heart's desires! Dahn gives me enormous hope for this earth. Dahn instructors not only teach about how to heal the human body through physical, energy, and spiritual training, but they also share wisdom about deeper healing for our earth. I am so grateful.
Pros: It is like a healing community center
Cons: I can't sleep over!!

I've only been practicing yoga for a few weeks, but am already hooked. Dahn offers a road map to health, harmony, and inner peace. It combines yoga, physical movement, and meditation in a way that is challenging but also realistic and attainable for most people. The answers that you're looking for are inside you and the staff do everything they can to help you find them.
Pros: Great instructors, many options
