I love this school
by jeanson045 at Citysearch
I cannot understand why some guys wrote not so good reviews. Well, to my part, they are very kind and skillful. Actually, I attended other schools such as Brookline driving school. City Auto is better than BDL. BDL is terrible.
GOOD

CAS was a good experience to me. I want to recommnend this school to anyone who want to learn how to drive. Good.
- Pros: kind instructor
- Cons: unkind-sometimes
Better off elsewhere
by jinkitee at Citysearch
I am a long-time resident of the South End so I have learned to live on public transportation without driving for a long time. A few months ago I switched jobs, and I found that I needed some refresher courses to feel more comfortable with the road. After extensive research, I decided on City Auto mostly on convenience despite all the mixed reviews. I quickly regretted my decision. The entire process from pickup to costs and inclusions were clumsily described and barely comprehensible over the phone. The instructor was terse and quite short tempered and strangely at the same time a bit uninvolved. Honestly, who likes being yelled at? While I eventually regained my confidence through a friend (what I should have done in the first place), and I do not have another school I could recommend, I still feel compelled to share my experience here with fellow City Searchers. As a consumer, I'd always say try something at least once. For my friends though, I'd tell them they're better off elsewhere.
- Pros: Convenient location, pickup service
- Cons: Confusing lingo, poor service, car seats are a bit icky

I got my license very easily using this school. Actually, they are very kind and skillful. I think they know how to teach someone ang how to get license.
Kind of weird
by rumbleBC at Citysearch
This school is weird, the instructor seems to be capable but he is so rude sometimes, I learnt a lot of driving skills from this school but also being yelled by them lots of time. I passed my road test with another school but did learn something from City Auto
- Pros: cheap
- Cons: instructors sometimes rude
Really bad school...irresponsible
by redBostonian at Citysearch
I used this school because I read good reviews online.
It was very disappointing. The girl at the reception desk is extremely mean and rude.
The instructors shout and scream at you and talk on the mobile phone.
all they care about is the money. they are very irresponsible and careless.
I failed my driving test. what a wate of money and time.
- Pros: proximity to the city
- Cons: bad instructors
bad service
by sobiabo at Citysearch
The service is honestly very bad. I took the school last year. The teachers were rude, talking on the phones all the time when they teach. The woman at the front desk is definately rude and unfriendly. They don't really know how to make schedules for their customers. If you get your driver licenses I would only say that you are lucky.
Things have certainly changed for the worst...

I remember attending the City Auto school last year because my brother highly recommended that I go. My brother recommended it because the people there were friendly and they really did their best to instill driving knowledge on him. He told me the names of the staff that had helped him achieve his driving license so i was excited to meet these people. As i first entered the class, I was anxious because i did not know what to expect from the school. I had heard great things so I asked the woman at the counter if the people that had helped my brother were still working there. She told me that there had been a change in staff, so I was somewhat disappointed. I proceeded to my class and from then on, i had a different view of the school. The classes were not that great because whatever i didn't understand, was not made clear to me by the teachers. They rushed a lot of material and didn't really seem to make any efforts in teaching us the core values of driving and its rules. All in all, the city auto that my brother told me about was just a thing of the past...
Was good but something changed???

My sister and my other friends came here like some years ago to get driving licenses. They told me to get it here cuz the teachers were great, its cheap, and people are nice. I dunno what is it but it suxx now! The teachers are always late and their mean.. the one for my sister isn't there anymore.. and the lady at the desk on weekdays too shes so mean. they don't have any of the times that i want to schedule too and i dunno why but sometimes the door is locked and no one is answering the phone so i just leave. my friends told me they loved the school but i dunno i guess they changed. i got my license so whatever..
Great teacher and I got my road test passed!!!

I suggest a great chinese teacher named Peter.
I learnt totally 10 lessons, costing me $270 exactly. I read some reviews. I feel very reasonable to be blamed by the teacher when I repeatedly did something wrong. But trust me, it worths for the whole life. Don't you think driving on the road and highway is so dangerous that we couldn't make any mistake! Your progress really depends on yourself. If you learn it fast and you are able to show your teacher that you drove and parked perfectly, I am sure you can get it passed shorter than 10 lessons.
