lunch on a weekday
by beatrix at Citysearch
The Banshee is a nice tucked away pub in Dorchester. Not too far in on Dorchester St from Columbia road so that you lose your mind in the traffic. Don't be fooled by the pub atmosphere, their food is top notch and their menu is varied and everything is delish. Many local contractors in the areas around go to eat there at lunchtime and we all know that they know the best spots. The bartenders are super nice an they have a semi wide selection of beers which makes lunch even better! And the best part is the bill, its always very small unless you partake of too much beer. The food is priced just right and it's always good for a few good laughs!
- Pros: mellow cheap friendly
- Cons: too much beer, do not return to work

The banshee is such a nice little pub. The karaoke on Thursday nights is really an experience... sometimes to be avoided, but makes it endearing. It can get pretty crowded downstairs, but head upstairs were there are a couple of benches and coffee tables to sit around with a big group. You usually have to order your food at the bar, and if you're sitting upstairs, you have to pick it up too, they usually won't deliver it upstairs to you. Also, they have a daily $5 special, which is always tastey!
- Pros: Ambiance, Good food, Daily Specials.
- Cons: karaoke on thursdays, can be crowded
