Pilates equipment classes YAAY!

I have take private reformer classes in Boston for years. Mat pilates hurts my back and neck. I prefer the machine cuz it makes the exercises easier and the leg work harder.
The instructors are warm and fuzzy.
- Pros: short money for reformer and apparatus classes
- Cons: wish studio was in plymouth
Pilates for a bad back
by MO at Citysearch
The service was great. I started with two privates. Mary, the owner walked me through the process with my bad back. She was informative and gave me a sense of hope. I love the studios.
- Pros: It helps

As a ortho doc, I see alot of clients who have chronic pain. I have referred clients to Mary's studios for 9 years. The success rate is significant. The approach is simple, stretch tight muscles and strengthen weak muscles...creating balance in the body. Mary has consistently helped my patients throughout the years. Her team of instructors is second to none. Because she trained them all herself. I will take experience over a weekend certification...anyday.

Pilates for my bad back
by ursulafit at Citysearch
I had such a nice experience here. I am shocked at the otherwise unkind comments. I have had such a bad back for years and found the studio via my doctor who recommended this studio. Classes are abundant, teachers are knowledgeable, all were trained by the owner.
I inquired and Mary has been teaching Pilates and fitness for over 20 years. I don't think a weekend class with a certificate can compete with this group of instructors who have all worked at this studio for over 6 years.
My mother and sister are now going with me to the studio and we are doing trios on the reformer. So much fun.

- Pros: clean, well equipped, well trained staff
- Cons: it is a bit far from the cape but worth it.
Personalized approach to Pilates on the equipment in a group class setting.

I moved here from NYC 2 years ago and found the studio in Norwell. The owner matched me with a teacher who could teach me visually since I am a visual learner. Impressive. The instructor knew of my back pain before I even mentioned it. I have taken Pilates in CA and NY and had to take privates to work on the equipment. At this studio, you can do group classe on the mats, barrels, reformers and cadillacs. Impressive. Jenna
- Pros: teachers assigned to the client based on learning style. Unique
- Cons: this studio has had some strong neg feedback. i wonder if it is the competition
Pilates for Back & Neck Pain

My husband has been working with the pros at this fully equipped studio and he is no longer a coach potatoe. He is now able to walk and play with our kids. He was 40 going on 75 and now he looks and acts younger than before our 4 kids. Thank you Mary. Maggie
- Pros: pain relief, professionals, make it easy
Classical Pilates-Fully Equipped
by fitnessguru at Citysearch
Pilates was not meant to be taught on just the mat. Most of us are too weak in our core so we strain to get through the matwork. Pilates is supposed to be taught on the machines until one is strong enough to do the same exercise on the mat.
This place has all of the equipment and all of the toys that strengthen your core. I wish I lived in the south shore
Pilates = no more pain!
by drgarrity at Citysearch
As a doctor who does surgery daily, I have a lot of neck pain and lower back pain. It was just a fact of life for me. A colleague of mine recommended pilates to relieve pain so I gave it a try. I felt different right away. The "Bad Back" Program has athletic trainers, pilates instructors and muscular therapists who work together to relieve chronic back pain. I am now a pilates advocate and I highly recommend this studio. The practitioners are professional and are great allies in the war against aging!

- Pros: knowledgeable, reasonable, promises kept
Los Angeles studio south of Boston!
by mmm7787 at Citysearch
I have been taking pilates for years. In LA and in New York. When I moved to southern Mass, I gave up on the notion. Whalla! Back & Body Studio and owner Mary Kim-Garrity came into my life.
I can't believe a fully equipped studio with an instructor who knows her stuff. She is a transplant from Boston.
The schedule has more pilates mat/equipment classes than studios in New York.
Five Star Workout
- Pros: variety, convenient, Experienced
