Good food anytime

by kdw306

I enjoy going to Boston Beer Works for lunch or going after work for appetizers, entrees, beer, and pool. The haddock sandwich is delicious and they have excellent fries. The burgers are very good too. They have been great about switching the haddock to salmon when asked and when I add the coleslaw on top for one big sammich (mmm mmm mmm) delicious. They have great beers and is overall a fun place to go. This is an excellent choice when you are not going out for an extremely high-end meal.

  • Pros: Love the food, the service has been outstanding, and a lot of fun
  • Cons: No complaints here

Boston beer Works

by carrieleelyn

I really liked Boston Beer Works as the atmosphere is casual yet lively. They have a big bar with many different types of beer. There are two floors and the place is always packed. This is a great place to go before or after a Celtics game or a concert. Located right across from the Green and Orange lines for convenient transportation for those who do not wish do drive into Boston. I thought the food and the service were excellent!

Rather Cold and Unfriendly

by johnenglar1

OK I am from the West Coast and I am used to friencly places, but this place was the worst I found in Boston. We were treated very discourteously and the manager Gary only made matters worse. The food was cold and oversalted. The beer was warmish and tasted like amateurs homebrew. Sorry but there are a lot of other pubs on this street that do better.

  • Pros: near the north station T station
  • Cons: discourteous service and bland food.

Fantastic Service

by reyna382

My boyfriend and I visited BBW on Valentine's Day. It was cold and snowy, and we just wanted to get out and defrost. BBW warmed us up right away! Our server was fantastic. We have been to the restaurant many times and enjoy the variety on the menu. We ordered steaks, and when we alerted our waiter that my boyfriend's steak was not cooked to temperature, he apologized, took the plate back, and brought us a new steak--cooked perfectly. The manager stopped by moments later to ensure that we were satisfied, and threw in a complimentary dessert as a gesture of apology. In the end, we had a lovely meal, great beer, and a yummy dessert. We'll be back.

  • Pros: Server is fantastic. We love their steak tips.
  • Cons: NONE

Great beer!

by shamrock91576

Boston Beer Works has some of the best food around. The burgers are nice and juicy and they aren't skimpy on the meat. The locations are perfect before and after the games; right across from Fenway and on Canal Street. The crowd varies at each location, but the scene is the same. For larger crowds, the Canal Street is quite big and they have pool tables as an extra bonus if you get bored at your company party. Try the blueberry beer, it's quite different.

  • Pros: Beer, food, good for large crowds and children
  • Cons: Can get pretty loud

Great Beer and Chili

by tfleming75

This bar has a good selection of microbrews--I had the Back Bay IPA and my husband had the Pumpkinface Ale. We were both pleased. I also ordered a bowl of the chili and it was outstanding! (We also ordered burgers which were a little well-done even though we ordered medium.)

I would definitely go back for the beer and chili!

Beer Works... Works.

by festerius

It was every thing I hoped it would be, and more. The many beers (I sampled eight) were all wonderful and masterfully micro brewed. The hambers and frys were fantastic and the over all experience was wonderfull.

  • Pros: Great Food, Wonderful Beers

Boston Beer Works not a bad place

by babe412

I thought the restaurant was OK. The pumpkinhead beer was great and the price wasnt bad (about $4.25 a glass). Food was good also, and you get a good portion size for the price. I felt the service could have been better. The waiter wasn't very attentive and seemed like he didn't care about anything.

  • Pros: Location, Beer!, Food
  • Cons: Service

Great Place!

by thuan

the atmosphere was great, although a lil too loud. Then again, it is to expected on a game night. The beers were great! From Blueberry Ale (basically beer with fresh blueberries) you have to try it! there is also pumpkinhead, which has a touch of cinnamon, and the bambino is nice and light. THe food is also off the chain. if you can, try all the fries there. u will not regret it!

  • Pros: Food, People, Beer!
  • Cons: slow service

You must get the FRIES!

by pineapplegirl

The fries here are simply delicious! Always crisp and right out of the fryer. Their seasoned fries are awesome! I was also impressed that they have some decent wines in addition to their beer. Good place to grab a burger and fries but I'd recommend staying away on game nights (fenway location). It gets INSANE.

  • Pros: Fries, Cheap
  • Cons: Crowded, Rowdy People w/ Games
