Winston's- a wilted bloom

by switters1 at Citysearch

Winston's is an overated, unresponsive, overpriced florist. Tried to work with them for my wedding at Boston Harbor Hotel. Late to return e-mails, late to return phone calls, and no help what so ever on providing guidance. They don't treat you like a customer. Just not worth the aggravation.

Beautiful Beautiful

I have gone to this flower shop and their sister shop on Boylston many times. Their price ranges can be anywhere from $15 to hundreds. One of the things that I like most about Winstons is you can buy a single stem, mix and match and get out of there without breaking a purse. They regularly have "day old" bouquets for about $15 too. They always look fresh and new to me so that is what regularly sits in my house. These bouquets usually last a whole week too. Sometimes one of two flowers die of the bunch but just like any other, I throw out the dead ones and keep the rest and sometimes the rest will last for two weeks. It's a great deal coming for a such a beautiful florist. They also have some nice glass and bowl arrangements starting in the $40 range. Granted, the incredible stuff is all over $100 and it is incredible. Some of the most gorgeous arrangements you can think of. Another suprise is they are not afraid to mix up different colors or flowers. When I think of Winstons I think of very old school and conservative. This is not the case with them. Their arrangements are simply beautiful regardless of price range.

Best flower shop in Boston

by jim0485 at Citysearch

I've never written a review before but after the experience I had with Winston Florist. I needed flowers for a friends 21st birthday and wasn't really to sure on where to go. After reading previous reviews on here about Winston Florist I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to order tulips but like a typical guy I had no idea they were out of season. I e-mailed them and in an hour I had a reply back. The next day a woman called me and explained that tulips were out of season but would help me in anyway possible in finding something else. The woman that I dealt with at Winston's could not have been more helpful. She spent 20 minutes with me on the phone looking at the arrangements on the website trying to help me find the right one. The flowers were delivered to my friend with no problem and they actually called her to make sure she would be home. The customer service was phenomenal and they definitely put the customer first. I would recommend this flower to shop to anyone that wants to get their money's worth.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.....nice plant.

by BrandonKeith at Citysearch

So get this....I am a buiness owner on Newbury st. and I went to Winston's to get a floor plant for my business. I spent 600.00 on this beautiful dracaena. Couple months later after taking care of it as prescribed ( I swear) it wasn't looking so good....so I went back there to ask if someone could come take a look at it. Sure.....for fifty bucks!...Fifty bucks to walk A BLOCK and look at my plant ? Um...I just spent 600.00 at your store. Get's better. I was told by the lady....."people spend THOUSANDS with us....its just policy..." whatever lady. So they come look at it....apparently the plant is happy and okay...just flowering and going through some weird phase. Okay...2 months later....it REALLY LOOKS BAD....the leaves are all limp...not pretty. So i go back.....fifty more bucks later to walk a block ...I am told its has spider mite and is dying....no choice but to get rid of it....50 bucks to tell me my plant is dying....yah..thanks. I refused to let it go..i decided to give the plant some more time and love before tossing it as they advised.. .since their visit it has bloomed all new leaves....(its been about three months..) Oh and the "spidermite" .....was dust...I run my business with customer service as a first priorty and i know how to treat people....apparently at Winston's through their years of business......they forgot.

  • Pros: beautiful arrangements.
  • Cons: price....attitude.

Don't waste your money

by stas123 at Citysearch

For the 2nd time Winston's messed up an easy flower order. I ordered flowers for my assistant for secretary?s day. I ordered on Monday to be delivered Wednesday, instead they were delivered Monday, 2 days early. They also never delivered the flowers I ordered for my wife on Valentine?s Day.

They are overpriced and clearly can not get an order correct!!

metza metza

I received flowers this past Valentines Day from a very special gentlemen. They were roses, tulips and gerber daises in a contemporary french vase. When my friend who sent them saw them, he was a bit disappointed that was all the arangement I received for the $$ he paid. I know alot of flowers and followed their instructions. I received them on Saturday. The tips of the roses and tulips began to curl and turn brown on Sunday and I disposed of them on Tuesday.

  • Pros: not the normal arrang
  • Cons: , poor quality
