User Reviews for Frog Pond on Boston Common

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

i am a bostonian, and i think that the frog pond is a very important winter tradition. ever since i was small, my parents have always taken me there to skate and drink hot chocolate. i love to skate, and the frog pond is the closest rink near my house, since our family does not have a car. the frog pond is affordable, friendly, and fun.

Pros: inexpensive, good condition, help available

Cons: no parking, often very crowded, little locker space

I'm not a good skater, but going to the Frog Pond is fun regardless. Especially right near Christmastime, because they have loud speakers set up playing Xmas music and it makes the mood of the whole place romantic and/or fun. There does tend to be many children there, in the early evening (check hours) there are less and that's when the couples come out and people who are not in the "rink" stand around the edges and people watch. I love it because theres something about spending a cold night skating while looking forward to sipping hot chocolate and strolling through the commons looking at the pretty christmas lights. And its cheap!

Pros: Romantic, Easy to get to via T, GREAT date

Cons: sometimes crowded

Editor's Review

Instead of taking a walk in the park, go ice-skating on the Common.  See the full editorial review.
