We recently ate at Bella Luna with another couple from the North Shore and the food, service and value was SO worth it, parking wasn't the easiest, but neither is the North End or South Boston or Charlestown so why complain now? Don't have pizza, go for the entrees, they're superb!
The food is FABULOUS and we will be returning quite often to share this hidden jewel with others. I had the braised ribs which fell off the bone and just melt in your mouth, they were more than accomodating when I wanted mashed potatoes instead of squash and my water glass was never empty!
Give this place a try, we're SO very glad we did!!
- Pros: excellent food, great value
- Cons: parking - but what else is new?
Let's not confuse "trendy" with good.

I've been a total a four times (Im a local).and each time Im amazed at how theyre able to get so much $$$ out of me for a night of pizza, beer and bowling. Honestly, what would cost $20.00 a head at most ay other place will cost you $60.00+ at the Milky Way. More that that, I never quite feel like the place is very clean, especially the downstairs where the lanes and arcade games are (the place is replete with graffiti and grime).
Still, its hard not to have fun bowling, hence the repeat business.
- Pros: Bowling, parking
- Cons: The "ick" factor combined with the cost of a simple ol'pizza!
An interracial, inter-galactic music club and bowling lounge.

In Short
The Milky Way manages to bring both sides of Centre Street--the young, white gentrifying population and the predominantly Latin long-term residents--together. J.P. hipsters make it their evening haunt--from Wednesday DJ nights to local live bands, the entertainment is as diverse as the neighborhood population. The dimly lit lanes are lined with blue Christmas lights taking you back to when it was cool to listen to Shawn Cassidy and drink Strawberry Quick.
Maybe it might be different on another night.

I think that the facility was certainly really cute and unique. There were a section for candle-pin bowling, a bar section, tables, and a dance floor. I liked it at first, however if you a single young lady be prepared to be annoyed by desparate men. I went on a Saturday night with the girls and it was terrible trying to get the men off of you. Maybe it might be different on another night. I think it's unfortunate that it happened. I hope that it was a one time occurance and that other women don't have the same experience.
- Pros: the cute facility
- Cons: some unwanted attention by people
Sooooo Groooovy

I schlepped over here with a group from Cambridge and it was well worth the trip. Milky Way's entirely unique - funky lounge, fun bowling, good pizza. We reserved 2 lanes and a seating area and we had a blast. I only wish we could have stayed for the Tiki Exotica band playing later that night...
- Pros: Funky, Cool, Unique

I recently went to Milky Way on a Thursday night with a bunch of my friends, and it was fantastic! We reserved two lanes ahead of time, which worked out perfectly. The food (mashed potato pizza!) and drinks were great, as was the atmosphere: retro-lighting, and great music. The comfy couches near the lanes were great for socializing. It is a bit of a walk from the T, but definitely well worth it!
- Pros: great atmosphere, reasonable prices, something for everyon
- Cons: had to wait @ the bar
Out-of-this-world Wedding!

We were married at the Milky Way recently and it was perfect! Everyone had a blast, the staff was amazing, the food from Bella Luna was fantastic, and the bowling kept even the most hard-to-please relatives delighted! Having my dad walk me down a bowling alley instead on an aisle was the highlight for me. Because there were so many things to do, people were mingling and the sound of everyone laughing was sheer music. All the staff were warm and friendly and planning with Miranda was a pleasure. I highly recommend the Milky Way for any type of event. I can't say enough about how happy we were with everything!!
- Pros: friendly staff, great value, fun fun fun!
- Cons: parking is tough
great food and games all in one

If you are lucky enough to attend on one of the nights when the lanes are not closed or the restaurant booked up for a private party you will have a great time. They have taken the best elements of Boston and put them under one roof. Decent Italian food that you might expect to find in the North End with Cambridge ambiance. Saturday is the best night with salsa dancing and live band until midnight. While you wait for a lane to free up enjoy billiards. Unfortunately the lanes are closed on Sundays. Not the safest neighborhood so travel in a group, take a taxi or drive there.
- Pros: frugal gourmet, salsa dancing Saturda, bowling lanes
- Cons: lanes closed Sundays, private parties booke, not close to T
