The service was incredible - I think the sales lady was having a good day, she was just in an incredible mood. The selection was good too (I think) first place we visited and the service was so good we had to buy.

  • Pros: great service

Moroeville, Pa.

I was trying to find several pair of shoes advertised at the 80% off in my mail out. There were only three pair in the whole men?s shoes from size 10 - 11 1/2. Some sale!! I didn't give up though. I tried to find some in the other price ranges. This was made almost impossible because of what was supposed to be music blasting down at me from the ceiling speakers. It sounded like children beating on pots and pans with fly swatters and sticks. Horrible!! ?The very worst semblance of an attempt at beat and musical tune as ever I have endured?. I love all kinds of good music. This however did not qualify. It just seemed to get louder and louder with no end of the wrangling noisy noise.

I could take it no longer. I went to the sales counter and asked so speak to the manager. They pointed to a large gray cubical with one way mirrors surrounding it. There was no bell, so I knocked on the door several times. Finally a man who seemed quite annoyed, opened the door and without any introduction asked me what I wanted. I told him I was informed the manager was in there and I would like to ask a question. He seemed more bothered and asked what I wanted. I explained to him how hard it was to spend any amount of time choosing shoes to purchase with the loudness of the music blaring down from the from above. He said " That is the way (THEY) wanted it so that was the way it was going to be. He offered no apology or concern for the state of things or the difficulty I was having trying to purchase your products. I told him I would have to leave rather than continue to endure the loud noise and I placed the shoes I was about to purchase on the shelf. He repeated that?s what THEY want, and went back to his cube and closed the door!

  • Pros: Good price
  • Cons: Indifferant personal, Near rude

In Short
Shoppers have been known to lose entire afternoons at these cavernous discount stores. Housing more than 30,000 pairs of men's, women's and children's shoes, everything is 25- to 50-percent off. Shoes are organized by style--not lumped together by designer--allowing you to compare cost, fit and quality at once. DSW's Reward Your Style Program offers additional savings.

DSW is definitely a great shoe store. Mind you the quality is not all that fabulous but they have a wide selection to choose from, the prices are great. If you're looking for everyday shoes to hang out in this place is for you....especially for summer shoes. The style for summer shoes changes vastly from season to season so you really don't want to spend too much on summer shoes anyway. DSW is an excellent shoe store. I recommend it.

sorry but dws carries all the shoes that dont make it. All the styles that are left over that the vendors can't sell. So when you get shoes at DSW know that your buying shoes that are last season-2 years out of style

  • Pros: cheap, variety
  • Cons: out of style, old, unfashionable

Like everyone else said, the selection/prices of shoes can't be beat. And the Reward program is really good -- you can use up to 3 of the $25 coupons on one pair of shoes. I fell in love with a pair of shoes that were $98. I could've waited for it to end up on the clearance rack, but with the coupons I got it for $23!

  • Pros: shoe selection, value for $$$

Put it this way! For my wife I actually had to build a wall to wall shoe rack because we are low on closet space- I shop here about twice a week. Shoe's are my passion and I usually pay approx $85.00 per pair. At DSW I only have to spend aroung $35 so for every one pair I would get, I can get two now! I only have two available spots left on the shoe rack so I guess this will be my last week to shoe shop!

DSW has a very large selection of various types of shoes at great prices. I would recommend going if you are looking for shoes or a purse for a special occasion, but I have never been too successful there looking for just casual shoes, sneakers or sandals.

I'd heard about DSW but living on the South Shore it's kind of a schlepp... but finally checked it out and damn! So many shoes... so little time... all at very reasonable prices, I got a really cute pair of strappy red beaded sandals for $25!! And a Nine West bag marked down from $59 to $20! Plus their rewards program gets you even more discounts. Hoping they'll put one of these at South Shore Plaza...

  • Pros: Value, Selection, Rewards Program
