Very fast service

I made an appointment with Irene for a bikini wax since I wanted to check out the place for a while.

The decor is a little old, but gets the job done. Irine was very pleasant to talk to and very fast doing the wax. Thanks to her quick work, the waxing was virtually pain free. I highly recommend Irene and will be returning in the future.

No fuss Brazilian!

I have been coming here for over 3 years based on the rave reviews for Irene that I received from several friends. I didn't get Irene my 1st time and I got Oksana instead. I have gone to her ever since. She always remembers me even if it's been several months since she's last seen me. She's very friendly and extremely meticulous in makine sure every hair is gone! One stick or many sticks I have NEVER left this place with anything more than a good wax job! The price is right and I'm able to get in and get out without any fuss. I've never been unhappy with any of the services I've received. I recently ended up with Irene in a pinch and she lived right up to the reputation that I had heard of those 3 years ago. I can't imagine going to any other place and I won't until I have to move out of the city which I have no plans to do at this time. Not everybody can be pleased with everthing but this is one VERY satisfied customer right here!

• Pros: always able to get in on short notice
• Cons: its on newbury st so driving isn't the best option

Oxana is the best!!

I visited Oxana for brazilian bikini waxes for 4 years or so and her skill and dedication to good work is unparalleled! I've been to countless salons and spas around the country and have never found anyone who gives quite the same level of bikini wax. Not only will she not let you leave until she's completely satisfied there's not a hair out of place, but she's friendly and chatty the entire time and is a genuinely sweet person. I recently moved to Miami and have yet to find anyone comparable to her skill level and miss her dearly! I highly recommend booking with her. The other girls are good as well just not quite as gentle and chatty as she is.

Not too pleased this time

I just wrote a review a few months agoabout previous positive experiences, but this time I am not too pleased. She missed a lot of spots and gave me an uneven landing strip right before my vacation. I'm not too happy and for the price I had to pay, I still had to fix it myself. I'm not sure if I'll go back.

Awesome Experience,Gentle waxing from Oksana

I had my very first wax at Newbury Day Spa with Oksana and she was the best! Despite other reviews I read, she is very friendly, talkative and does not reuse sticks in the wax! She was also very gentle with the waxing, as I told her I have very sensitive skin. I had a little redness after, but she suggested I use baby powder and witch hazel and it worked wonderfully. I went back a second time and there was less redness after the wax. She didn't miss a spot! She provided a lot of information and was very knowledgable and competent about waxing and I am definitely booking an appointment with her before my vacation!

*Side note: The wax used is HOT, and heat kills most bacteria, like when you boil water, it kills harmful bacteria. Most salons use the same wax all day because if they didn't, it would be too gosh darn expensive and they'd charge you more, so get over it!*

• Pros: Wonderful staff, skilled & knowledgable professionals
• Cons: Narrow, creaky elevator, receptionist doesn't smile

Great spa

I like this spa because they accept walk in appointments with little wait time. I got Irine for a facial. She did a great job and I will definitely be coming back again.

Great Brazilians!

I've been going to Newbury Day Spa for over a year for Brazilian waxing. No matter who does it for me, I'm in and out in 10 minutes and the job is as painless as possible. One of the best parts is that while other spas have upped their prices for Brazilian waxing, Newbury Day Spa still has one of the most competitive prices around AND they do an impeccable job. It's accessible, I can almost always book an appointment even on the day of, and the ladies there are precious.

HORRIBLE. Hasty, wax made me bruised and was incredibly painful. Pay $10 more and go to a nicer spa.

They were really lazy and hasty. Unlike most spas, they gave me barely anytime to change, then did the wax terribly and made me bruised. They didn't even give me tissue or a towel to clean up afterwards like other spas. They literally spent 3 minutes total on a brazilian. I strongly recommend people to pay the extra $5-10 to go to a nicer place that won't make you bruised.

Horrible "people skills" ; not interested in acquiring new clients

I called this salon to book 2 appointments for me and my good friend. I was looking on their web-site and I noticed they had a different price quoted than what the lady was telling me. She rudely told me that because they have just moved to "Newbury street" their prices have increased and they will not honor their old pricing...even though it was on their web-site. That was fine by me at the time as I was still interested in booking the appointments. Well, the owner ( she identified herself as such) told me to "have a nice day". When I asked if I could still book the appointment she gave me a firm "NO" and again told me to have a nice day.

Horrible! I guess with the move to Newbury street the owner must have felt that she didn't need the 2 new clients to add to the spa's base of customers. I was highly offended and booked the spa treatment at her neighbors on Newbury street. I will not be recommending that salon to anyone I know.

Best Brazilian, and very sanitary!!!

It was my first time getting a Brazilian, and Irene was amazing!!! She was quick and gentle, and made me fell very comfortable. Also, she was very sanitary, using new sticks, despite what other reviews might have said. I'm going back to Irene, Ive already made my next appointment!!!
