Would discretely tell you to avoid

My last Facebook post: is glad everybody survived the partial nite at Venu - def the last time anybody goes there. Music sucked, overcharged for cover, overcharged for miss-made drinks and my friend accosted/threatened by the ahem..aggressive, socially diverse crowd.
If you're interested in hanging out with 100 guys who obviously don't know how to wear the dress clothes they show up in and 100 women who shouldn't be wearing the clothes they're trying to pull off - definitely check it out.
- Pros: Is a club that charges $25 cover
- Cons: Music, Crowd, Drinks, Environment
trying too hard ... will never go back
by katlioness
this club was trying too hard to be posh. it obviously pays groups of attractive girls to just stand around, and it charges way too much for just about everything. cover was expensive ($20) as was coat check ($4) and drinks ($12). the bouncer made us stand outside for 20 minutes after opening (11 pm), and it was freezing outside. music was random (jumped from real mccoy to kanye west to green day) and it took a while for people to start dancing (which might be expected, though you'd figure that the hot girls they hire would try to dance and alleviate the awkwardness). tables are right up next to the small "dance area" and so glasses, drinks, and napkins wind up all over the floor. and even though you've paid all that money to be somewhere stylish, you will still find sketchy characters trying to grind up on/touch you. i did not find venu to be classy at all.
- Pros: attractive girls (hired)
- Cons: price, attitude of staff, sketchy people pretending to be hip
Loved It!!!!!!
by treschic26
I went to Venu as a round out to my birthday week Extravaganza with a group of my friends and it was utterly Superb. I loveeeeeed the music, a mix of house, rock, hip hop, it was excellent. The drinks were a bit overpriced that was the only down side but it was worth it. The crowd was amazing, the dance floor was packed with people looking to have a great time, and the entrance was quick and easy, we literally waited for less then 3 minutes, It seriously could not have gone any better.
- Pros: Packed with stylish and hot people, Fantastic Music
- Cons: Overpriced drinks
Don't Go Here!!!!
by buddymcg
This Club was bad from the beginning to the end I went last Saturday and it was snowing out... The bouncers were telling people that if they wanted to go in quicker they would need to be tipped 50 dollars. I was not about to give a bouncer $50.00 just to get in to the place quicker just to turn around and pay for coat check then the $15 dollar cover. If I had done that it would have cost me about $70 dollars and I had not even had a drink yet. The Club was the dirty the bartenders were droping fruit slices on the floor then putting them in peoples drinks!!!!!!! They have a poor music selection!!!! Prices were high for everything!!!! All staff were rude and expecting you to tip them. I dont mind tipping someone who helped me with a drink or seated me somewhere but I'm not about to tip someone who is paid already for keeping people contained outside in a snowstorm for 45-50 minutes. I would recomend that the Department of public Health check out this establisment as well as the better buisness beauru.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Price, Staff Attitudes, Poor Health Habits
Boston's young and fab have a home in this Theatre District hotspot.

In Short
Boston's jet-set gathers to swill mixed drinks, guzzle bottled water and dance to the pulsating sounds of some of the city's hottest DJs. Venu accommodates four bars, all of which are situated just steps above the recessed and always crowded dance floor. Colored, pulsating lights complement the throbs of the music--music so loud it makes conversation nearly impossible (though no one really comes here to talk).
Venu was awesome

I decided to purchase a table at 360 with 20% tip, and it could not have been a better club. The DJ was awesome, the sound system was great, and the service was good. Make sure you go on a Friday, the international night, when the best music is played, and the place is packed with hot girls. Though, the service was a tad slow and although it is nice that the tables are right on the dance floor, it does cause a problem because we had half our drinks knocked over by crazy dancers.
If you don't want you table to be right in the action, get the table at the end of the dance floor. There is a step to get to it, and although there is plenty of action there, it is less likely that your drinks will fall over, and you can seat more people.
- Pros: People, Music, Action
- Cons: Service a tad slow, Drinks knocked over
Mixed Feeling

We went on a Saturday night a little after 12. What a mess inside! People packed at hall way waiting for coat-check. Two rooms, Latin-house and hip-hop. Somehow, for hip-hop room, you have to reserve ahead of time to be able to wait on line for a bracelet in order to get into the room. Silly! We ended up in the Latin-house room. The room was trendy with couches around. The crowd was young Latinos, not the Salsa and Merengue type, more of Chanel and Prada type that can only dance Latin pop. They all came with their own crowd and definitely wouldn't mix with others. Music was decent if you like Latin pop, a few merengue. Drinks? A small bottle of water cost $5. At 2am it was another battle to get our coats. They need a better management! We probably will go back, say, once a year.
- Pros: Trendy, Good music
- Cons: , Line for everything, Expensive
Don't Believe the Hype
by jesu83
People hype this club as the place everyone should be going to on Fridays, and maybe even Saturday. The truth of the matter is that this is probably one of the worst clubs in Boston. Unfortunately, the bouncers truely believe in their heart that they are running the best club in the world. They are very arrogant, and truely have no care for the customer. I was treated in a way I have never been treated before in a club, and I must say that this last friday was probably the worst club experience Ive ever had. I will never return to this place.
- Pros: none
- Cons: music, ambience, service (bouncers)
Beware of burglars!!!
by jennifer_aniston
I went there with a group of friends a coulpe of days ago and this place really SUCKS! They had two floors, one with techno one with R&B... The drink selection was tremendously small but the prices tried to compensate for this... ;-(
Suddenly I became aware that I was missing my coat... after unsuccessfully searching for it I went to the toilet and saw my coat lying behind the door, together with other (expensive looking) leather jackets... someone had stolen it while I was dancing!!! --> so, take care, watch your stuff!
- Cons: music-DJ, people, service
