Great for a walk, picnic or date!. The Boston Common is a great place to go for a walk or a picnic on a nice day. Or to take a date for a nice stroll after dinner. There are also a lot of great attractions in the area (movie theater, restaurants, clubs, etc.) If you come in from another city, you can take the T's green line to Boylston and you'll get out right in the park!

Citysearch Editorial Review. This 50-acre span of trees, walking paths and athletic facilities is the cornerstone of Boston's Emerald Necklace--a series of tree-lined parks snaking throughout the city. Catch the occasional free concert at the Parkman Bandstand, or visit the monument to the African-American Civil War unit made famous in the movie "Glory." Believed to have opened in 1634, this is considered to be the oldest city park in the U.S.

great green space. boston's version of central park, this is a great green space to wander around with your sweetie or sit and have a picnic. plus, it's in the heart of boston; you can get off the t at park street and hop on the freedom trail, go to faneuil hall, or grab a bite or a beer at one of the nearby restaurants.
