The Circle usually has a nice mix of big movies and smaller independents, but for all intents and purposes, it's a multiplex.

It may wear a conglomerate's moniker, but don't be fooled. This is a movie theatre taken directly from the Golden Era of Hollywood imaginings. Or is it? Did the ornate palace of your imagination deliver Dolby Digital Surround Sound to seven screens? Did its concession serve Austrian pastry and fragrant coffees? This Brookline gem obviously does not fit neatly into conventional conceptions of what comprises a movie theatre, but that's its strength.

Who's Here
The place gets packed with college kids congregating in the Ground Round next door and the decent parking lot (the Circle is practically on the Boston College campus), but what really makes this theater special is its Cafe Godiva.

On Fridays and Saturdays the theater provides a non-alcoholic alternative to Cleveland Circle area nightlife.
