Finally a Great Outside Spot!. Let's be honest, Boston does not have great places to sit outside. The places with an outside area, don't always have the best food. Bostonians have to travel North and South eat outside!

Last Friday, Pre-Celtics game, I met a buddy for many drinks and some great food at the Woodward Grill patio outside.

There is great people watching as everyone runs by to catch the train home and you relax with a proper mint julep.

Our waitress, sporting very funky 80's sunglasses, picked out all our food and she did a great job in her. The duck confit flatbread and short-rib tortelli were amazing. Perfect for sharing. I am definitely am heading back for a quick after work bit or drinks soon again.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Anchoring the luxuriously boutique Ames Hotel, Woodward has the casual, convivial feel of a tavern, but swaps old-world rusticism for a minimal backdrop of white walls and inky-black banquettes. At this chicer-than-thou haunt located squarely downtown--don’t be surprised at the persistent swarm of the after-work set--old and new come together in perfect contrast for Woodward’s signature “Ben Franklin meets a supermodel” credo. In addition to the lower-level dining room and bar, the elegant marble staircase behind the “cabinets of curiosities” (read: a peculiar mishmash of antique objects) leads up to yet another dining room and bar, flanked by lounge seating and a fireplace. As the kitchen remains open daily from breakfast to post-midnight, the menu echoes the tavern's multi-purposefulness, from densely flavored mushroom and taleggio crostini to succulent roasted cod with fennel.

Ames Hotel modern-day tavern encourages sharing, socializing. Located in the lusciously trendy Morgan Ames Hotel, this urban tavern--helmed by executive chef Mark Goldberg--features regional ingredients, breakfast/lunch/dinner/late-night menus 7 days a week and a pickling program. Throughout the dinner and evening hours, all menu items at Woodward are designed for sharing and come to the table, as they are prepared.
