trivia. My work mates and myself head there every tuesday for trivia. We always have fun and great food down there.
Lobster Thursdays. Lobster thursday at tommys must be the best value in boston. The price of 14.99 is a give away.A pint and a lobster its great to be alive.
great brunch. Went to Brunch at tommys last sunday. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. The food was excellent just like the service.Oh I gotta to compliment the irish soda bread and the scones.[I am from Texas and very picky about food].I'd definately go back again for dinner.
best pint of stout. I normally dont write reviews but I just had to .I have just moved to boston and stumbled accross this bar/restaurant.Unbelievable would be best to describe the food and the staff of tommy doyles. The mussels are the best and the chicken fajta is as good as any mexican restaurant.I love football so the big screen in the back of the bar is great and the atmosphere the staff create was fantastic cant wait for the play offs.they also have a wonderfull patio and the live music tommy's lay on every night is super.
GREAT AFTER WORK BAR. Great place to unwind after a hard day at the office especially in the summer with tommys patio. One of my favorite hang outs in cambridge.
Great place for lunch, afterwork drinks. Working right in the area at a biotech, I've had the pleasure of frequenting this place for three years now. Never have I been disappointed. The lunches are served fast, and the place has a great busy atmosphere. The patio during the summertime is the best in Cambridge. Afterwork, my friends and I stay to the bar mostly where delicious pints are served by some of the friendliest bartenders I know. Overall, a great pub.
Irish Gem in the Heart of Kendall Sq. Cambridge. This bar is truly a gem in the heart of Kendall Sq. The bar scene is really fun, the bartenders are all really fun. And the food is great for the price point. The seafood pasta is full of mussles, scallops, salmon and calamari. My girlfriend had the sheapards pie and love it reminded it of the one her mother used to bake. I would highly recomend if you are going to Kendall Cinema hit Tommy Doyle's first.
Irish Bar and Restaurant. This is a good place to catch a quick meal before going to the Kendall theatre, or to have a bite after work. Its too noisy for a "meaningful date," but great if you are with a group of friends. There is a good selection of food and moderate price. The outdoor seating is super for people watching. The bar is lots of fun, "real" Irish atmosphere. The staff seem to all have Irish accents and are friendly.
Irish Warmth at One Kendall Square.
Tommy Doyle's is not about shamrocks and green stuff, its an Irish owned bar and restaurant that exudes Irish friendliness and warmth. Those who disparage "Irish cuisine" are wise to try the Irish menu items before digging in their heels. The Bangers and Mash is tasty; the corned beef and cabbage is excellent -- with al dente cabbage (a nod to Cambridge tastes?); and the Irish stew is like your grandma used to make. The daily specials are reasonably priced and often outstanding. (The wood-grilled pork chops are one such offering.) The menu also offers typical pub grub (burgers, sandwiches, nachos) and assorted salads.
Of course, the bar is the heart and soul of Tommy Doyle's. Bring a friend and enjoy a pint of Guinness or your favorite brew. Don't have a friend with you? Smile. You will have one in a twinkle. Its that friendly of a place.
It's a pub. The restaurant is pretty average for food (not bad for the price but not amazing either); nothing outstanding except they do a decent lobster special on Thursday nights for $9.99 that's hard to beat. The small bar is a true Irish pub, and Guinness is poured nicely although a bit on the cooler side for anyone from the northern half of Ireland. If you've been to Ireland, you'll think this is the perfect place to hang out; if not, you'll probably think it sucks but that's your problem.
