Tips for Bleacher Bar

Love that Dirty Water. Don't have a ticket to the game, but still want to get those chills from seeing the field at Fenway Park? Head down Landsdowne St towards Gate D and stop in at the Bleacher Bar on the right. While walking down the stairs into the bar area your gaze may land upon the garage door that's opened but fenced leading into right-center field. If you're early enough or it's not a game day, you could snag a table and smell the fresh cut grass while sipping on a Sam Summer. If you've decided to visit during a game, just saddle up to the bar (the bartenders are quick) and stare inquisitively at the mirror that says "Monster Bar." Guess their eyes were bigger than their wallets when it came to the naming rights of the bar. And guys, don't worry about missing any action while you're in the bathroom - there's a window in front of you...but it's not one-sided!

Citysearch Editorial Review. When Lansdowne Street got its nightlife overhaul in 2008, Bleacher Bar was carved out underneath the spectator stands of Fenway Park. A large open section gives views, though not access, to the hallowed playing field. Nowhere else can you enjoy a beer or cocktail looking over the center field of America’s oldest professional ballpark. Besides meat-laden sandwiches and several variety of sliders (including a creamy crab salad), the prosciutto and cheese-stuffed spicy cherry peppers are addictive. Bleacher Bar is a great neighborhood spot in Fenway, but beware of massive crowds on Red Sox home-game nights.

My front row seat to Ellsbury. For starters - day of a game - they let you walk in just to take a picture of the field - which is worth it just in and of itself.

Are you a Jacoby Ellsbury fan like myself? If you are then its worth going early to get one of the three tables in front of center field just to see him work his magic on the field.

Besides the intrigue of being "inside fenway" it really is just a regular old bar - but worth stopping by - and fantastic if you get one of the close up seats especially on games you don't have tickets. Go at least once... guaranteed you will go back... even if its just for Jacoby... mmmmm.
