They RUINED MY HAIR!.
I have been getting texturizers on my hair for a few now. I know the brand my hair dresser back home uses and how long it would be in my hair. I was very particular about protecting my hair, because
it was what made me "exotic" looking.
I went to salon red to get my hair texturized and cut since I am away for college and need to maintain. I paid almost 200 dollars and got over processed and limp hair in return. The cut was great, but I had gorgeous curly hair when I walked in that had just needed a slight texturizer to keep the frizz down.
After going there 2 times for a consultation and talking to the hair dresser, Yojanse, about my concerns about some one doing it wrong and told him I had done alot of research and had been referred to him. Even after telling him my concerns he STILL over processed my hair, and did not admit that it was over processed when I came back almost in tears. When I came back to show him that I no longer had gorgeous thick curly hair, I came back with limp curls and thinning out hair that had nothing but a slight wave. I was absolutely upset, and he said that my hair just need a little "reviving" and it would snap back. He sat me under the dryer a few times with a deep conditioner, but had me go out and buy "special products" to use on my hair. A year later, it never bounced back and my hair has never looked like it use to.
I went to my old salon back home, and my hair dresser told me that it was over processed and all I could do is cut if off and grow it out, or grow it out and then cut off the dead ends.
I then saw the owner, Arthur Harris, and he promised to give me some free conditioning treatments and to do the touch up himself, but when I came in to get it done a few months later after having grown it out some more, the salon refused to honor their agreement. This salon has ruined my hair, they dont care, and a year later my hair is still limp and dead from a mistake someone made who wasnt paying attention. DO NOT GO IF YOU LOVE YOUR HAIR!!…
Professional, talented and priced right. I searched high and low for a Salon in Boston that is professional, affordable and that has a staff I can trust with my hair. I am mixed race and wanted a salon that could deal with all types of hair. There is no limit to the hair types with which Salon Red stylists can work. I go to Kanessa. She is amazing and I trust her with my relaxer and my trims. She doesn't cut off your hair like other stylists I've seen. She knows exactly what needs to be done to your hair but also listens to exactly what you want. The prices here are pretty reasonable considering the quality of service received. I've been going here since the summer and I will continue to go here (or follow Kanessa) for as long as I live in Boston.…

Salon Red @ 350 - Kanessa Alexander. I have been to many salons and I must say, Arthur has a well organized professional business. there is no cell phone talking, no twenty minute breaks, no twelve hour waits for a two hour hair do, You are in for your scheduled appointment and out within a decent time frame, it is what a salon is supposed to be and not all the chaos that other salons tend to have. Kanessa Alexander has been my stylist for years and she knows exactly what to do to my hair. I love going there to laugh and enjoy the elegance that the salon has to offer. I must say, salon red @ 350 is very diverse, it also sets aside the typical urban myth of un-professional salons owned/operated and employed by several african-americans. Kudos to you Arthur and Kanessa both for your professionalism and work that you do. I enjoy all of the time I spend there and sometimes stay longer just to talk. It is always a pleasure.…
