Mid East PuPu platter.... or whatever its called.

A group of friends and i came here for my gf's bday and i got the MiddleEastern platter. It was amazing, and vegan (except for one thing i can't remember that had to be left off/given to a friend).

I can't remember what beer i got, but i remember enjoying it. Staff was friendly, tunes were nice. Seems like this place can afford to be a bit cooler-Aside from the hipsters playing top40/rock vinyl and the decor that offsets them. I like the hipsters though, i do. I may even be one myself (with a better record collection) :P

Stylish, smart, spicy and perfectly cooked dishes from the motherland of all European and Near Eastern cuisine.. The Scene
ZuZu's customers are the sort who've been eating at the more casual Middle East (this restaurant's older sister next door) off and on for 10 or 15 years. The rich red-and-yellow, very vertical space positively glows from indirect yellow neon tubes overhead.

The Food
You could make a night of it here by simply lingering over bottle of wine and several delicious small dishes, called mazza. Or you could instead concentrate on the main courses. "Middle Eastern" usually conjures visions of mushy eggplant and pasty hummus, but the chef here gives this cuisine of rich spices, nutty grains and legumes and roasted meats the attention and care it deserves. The Middle Eastern bouillabaisse has enough fish (bass, salmon, scallops, mussels and shrimp) heaped up in the bowl of delicately seasoned tomato broth to feed a family.

Good food makes up for the service. I usually go for the middle eastern pupu platter--lots of interesting things and excellent dips for them (like whipped garlic which is excellent with the chicken bric). The salads are quite tasty too.

Makes for a great casual and inexpensive place for dinner after work or to meet friends. Wine and beer selection is small but good.

And the service is just acceptable enough to not ruin everything else--while they're friendly, they're not terribly organized.

Great place for a light meal. While their service could be better and their chair/table situation may leave you with a backache, I've returned many times to Zuzu. Its a great and friendly place to grab some food that won't leave you bloated or broke and they've got a great little cocktail menu.

Fantastic!. I've been to Zuzu several times, have tolerated OK (not bad) service, but have LOVED the food! Their cuisine is consistent, flavorful, imaginative, warm and satisfying. It's a great value, too. Try the Cheese & Black Olive Pate as an app and Fried Chicken Entree - perfect!
