Excellent Care for our Cats

by LukeK at Citysearch

I have been very satisfied with the care our cats have received. We have one cat with several chronic health issues and Drs. Sanchez and Feldman have been great with him. He needed major surgery last Thanksgiving, which Dr. Groper performed, and he has been doing great since then, in fact I really wish we had had it done sooner, it would have saved him a lot of discomfort.

I think their prices are in line with other animal hospitals in the area. We have had to take one of our cats to an emergency visit to Angell Memorial on a Sunday and it was hugely more expensive.

  • Pros: Dr. Sanchez, Dr. Feldman

Mean service, high prices

Anyone who is a doctor, especially of children, knows that you don't just treat the child, you more or less treat the parent(s) as well. The same applies with pets. We just brought our cat there to be groomed. when we dropped him off, the receptionist was rude and unaccommodating. She was curt and unhelpful. We handed out kitty over to her for an overnight stay and requested that he be examined and shaved, as his hair is prone to knots and excessive dandruff build-up, and due to allergies, we wanted these two problems dealt with. When we went to pick up the cat the following day, we found that they had not cut his hair, rather they felt that he did not 'need it'. More than that, they did a poor job grooming him; there was still an excessive amount of dander on his coat. Likewise, the next day, the receptionist was still curt and mean as she gave us our exorbitant bill.

We will not be giving our business to this hospital again. We were extremely disappointed and felt quite snookered.

  • Pros: clean facility
  • Cons: price, rude reception, aloof vets, poor service, non compliance

Great care, but SUPER expensive.

by ppatti113 at Citysearch

I've been taking my now 12 year-old cat here for two years. The care has been great. I have a Maine Coon and the vet was able to tell me about health risks to my aging cat that had never been previously mentioned to me. My only issue with BAH is that last year, my cat's annual check-up cost about $140, which is pricey, but not by much (I paid about $100 at the previous vet I was taking him to). This year, however, because he's considered "senior" the bill was $290!!!! That's outrageous! The vet did no more than what had been done the previous year, but it cost me twice as much and he didn't even get his distemper shot. I was apalled. While I really liked the vet, I think I'll be looking for another one next year.

  • Pros: Friendly vet and office staff.
  • Cons: Way too expensive.
