Here is a remedy for that. Sam's is above Louis and much more affordable! On a recent Friday night, my partner and I dined outdoors on the patio. It was a great backdrop for a meal and added some inadvertent entertainment in the form of a Ska band aboard a booze cruise echoing off of the water surface. To make it even more entertaining the "ska fans" ignited into a sing-a-long of Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing'. Anyways back to the food and drinks. After ordering drinks the bartender came to our table with 3 rums to make sure we got the correct rum for a Dark & Stormy. That was quite a nice touch of service and this type of kindness continued throughout the night with our server and host. I had a roasted piquillo peppers with manchego cheese as an appetizer which was delicious. My partner had a green salad which was a little salty but otherwise good. I had a black pepper burger and fries. The burger was split into 2 thin patties full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Between the patties were sauteed mushrooms and cheddar cheese (there are many options to choose from with your burger). The fries were seasoned robustly (almost a little too much) and barely needed ketchup. The other nice thing was the portions were just right. The drinks were delicious and prepared quickly. My only beef was that the exposed ceiling needs some sound absorption. Even though we were outside, the sound coming from the dining room was loud and tinny. The place was only 1/3 full and so I can imagine that it gets really loud when busy. All in all, we had a really nice meal and will certainly return. Once the cool weather returns, it will be interesting to see how they manage squeezing everyone in the small dining area. Also to note, they serve brunch on the weekends.
