Robinwood Cafe and Grille is one of those increasingly rare finds, where you can get a strong cup of coffee and an order of fluffy, golden pancakes whether it’s nine in the morning or nine at night. With the comfortable wooden bar, friendly staffers and decor similar to your childhood kitchen, this Jamaica Plain joint is casual and inviting. Large cafe posters framed on the wall are endearingly generic, yet add to the neighborly charm. The offerings are mainly American fare, but you’ll find a few Italian and Greek options (including a chicken parm sandwich, wedged between two slices of herbed focaccia), all at daringly low prices. The rest of the menu lists typical comfort food, from steak tips to a crisp, non-greasy, fried seafood platter.
