Named for the Mayan phrase for "a warm welcome to you," Tis Tik welcomes customers with a cheerful array of jewelry, accessories and other gifts handcrafted by artisans in developing countries and imported through socially responsible organizations. Bright, monochromatic jewelry is arranged by color, creating a vivid rainbow of shapes and hues against the stark white walls, while delicate silverwork, mosaic mirrors, whimsical cards, and sequined handbags (many emblazoned with the iconic image of Frida Kahlo) round out the store's selection. Stepping inside Tis Tik almost feels like visiting a Mexican art festival with its varied textures and materials.
