Not thrilled. Hello, IU had a Travelzoo voucher for XHALE as did every other diner when we were there. I went with a foodie friend of mine. We got there on a Friday night around 6:30pm and there was hardly anyone there.

The waiter informed us that Xhale is typically for hotel guests.......hence the travelzoo voucher I suppose to drum up new business. We each ordered a glass of wine. My friend ordered a Pinot Grigio. She noticed that the bottle they brought out was a cheapo brand, but they had no problem charing $11/glass. SHe said to me, for $11, I can buy at least two of those bottles.

The cocktail menu was very limited. They do not have a full cocktail menu at Xhale as hotel guests can get cocktails at their minibar. That was very disappointing as it was after work and I really wanted a martini.

I didn't care for the bread and the butter was cold, thus not spreadable. No big whoop!

I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders. Flavorwise, they were good. WHen they brought them out, they were cold. For an entree, I had the beef medallions with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This was the, if not one of the most expensive items on the menu. I ordered mine medium/well done. They came out like two dried up little hockey pucks. My friend ordered the fettucine with shrimp scampi. We sent out a search party and found four little shrimp hiding on her plate.

The swiss chocolate cheesecake was good. It was super rich, but hey, it's cheesecake! I totally enjoyed that!

So, we each had leftovers we wanted to wrap up. I had planned to eat my potatoes and remaining hockey puck for lunc h the next day. Our brilliant waiter mixed up our bags and we got each others leftovers. It never occurred to us to check. We noticed the next day and had to throw them out as we did not like what the other ordered.

Here is what I don't understand. I'm sure the point of Xhale participating in the Travelzoo voucher was to drum up business, and showcase what they do. What the accomplished was to get me never to go back there.

Beware and eat with caution!

Citysearch Editorial Review. As the Copley Square Hotel’s on-site location for dining guests, Xhale is a multi-purpose lounge and restaurant decked out in reds and greys, with multiple seating arrangements: sprawling banquettes, chairs huddled around knee-high tables, a tall chef’s table surrounded by several stools. The restaurant’s kitchen isn’t open for lunch, and instead bookends the day with full or continental breakfast and casual dinner choices--from a signature burger to New England-style baked cod topped with Ritz cracker crumbs. As its loungey ambiance and scattered cushions suggest, Xhale is also a plush, playful spot for mingling over drinks and small plates.
