The hungry, madding, sandwich-craving crowds convene at the South End's sun-drenched Parish Cafe, a sibling to Parish's Back Bay location. The cafe's shtick is that the menu is populated with sandwiches designed by Boston’s most notable chefs. Dark wooden tables set the background for the generously portioned plates, ranging from Gerard Lopez’s Elephant Walking on Eggs, named after his Cambridge outpost, to a spicy tuna burger created by Tim Cushman of O Ya fame. Other entrees are classic comfort fare, like a gooey white lasagna or mac ‘n’ cheese. Parish Cafe is a largely open space flanked by a bar that’s ideal for lunchtime eating or a quick bite after work.
