Citysearch Editorial Review. Though there may be Ted Baker stores in several cities, the designer’s shop mold is far from cookie-cutter: Each location’s boutique is individually designed, closely incorporating bits of local culture and idiosyncrasies. The Boston store is themed around Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter’s tea party, while nodding discreetly at that infamous anti-Brit Boston tea party, too. Real English china cups and saucers dot shelves in crazy piles; you almost want to tidy them up. But that doesn’t distract from Baker’s smart, whimsical designs--on the contrary, the zany theme (from a chessboard floor to rose garden wallpaper) sets a fitting backdrop. From men’s briefs to women’s accessories, and from elegantly cute dresses to nicely tailored men’s jackets lined with satin brocade, Baker always adds an enticing twist.

Victorian building houses eponymous designer's collections.. London designer Ted Baker's 1756 square-foot boutique purveys menswear and womenswear in a traditional Victorian red brick building on Newbury Street. Topiary tea pots, surreal glass top hats and a black and white marble "chequerboard" floor evoke a Mad Hatter’s tea party.
