I need it today.
I think I should start phoning in a reservation to Friendly Toast. The biggest issue with trying to go here is the line. Make sure you're not starving when you venture out, because it's going to be 40+ minutes on a Sunday.
But once you're inside, O.M.G. Try everything. I had an omelette with goat cheese, bacon and asparagus--NH's Finest. What? I've also experienced the smoked salmon bene. wow. They've got all you need to create your own omelette too. Avacado, Chambord onions, mushrooms, green apples, olives, bleu, brie... but not all @ once! Protip: save room for their super fresh bread. Really. That's okay, it'll help soak up the pint-glass mimosas :)
Big tasty breakfasts.
Hidden in over in 1 Kendall Square is the Friendly Toast, the yummy 1950's flavored breakfast shoppe.

I've enjoyed their french toast, and their "Almond Joy Pancakes" - coconut and chocolate chips! I highly suggest you try the pancakes for your first visit and french toast for later visits.
If you're feeling more up for egg or potato based meal, try the a hearty Costa Rican: 2 sunny side up eggs with melted provolone and sour cream over black beans and plum tomatos, served with homfries.
Its too bad about their location - they would make a killing in Inman (Across from the All Star Sandwich Bar - hint hint, its available for lease!)
What I eat @ the Friendly Toast. My recommendation: 1 pumpkin pancake a Breakfast Burrito, and a slice of cayenne-cheddar is a MUST even if I'm belly up full! oh & a cup o'Joe.
Funky, spacious greasy-spoon adds casual flair to Kendall Sq. The offbeat vibe at The Friendly Toast is hard to miss. Lime green walls cluttered with kitschy accessories and a quirky staff (complete with tats, piercings and technicolor hair) are just part of the fun at this breakfast-all-day diner alternative. Sure, all the knick-knacks your bingo-crazed grandmother once loved have somehow found their way onto the walls, with a bizarre mix of retro lampshades, long lost souvenirs and animal print flourishes. Morning foods are the real star, with candy-filled pancakes or classics like huevos rancheros, but don’t neglect the burrito menu at lunch (The Friendly Toast can roll with the best of Boston’s Tex-Mex empires). The Orleans fries are served golden brown and then tossed in brown sugar and sprinkled with Tabasco--dip them in sour cream to lessen their bite.
