Worst Spa Experience ever!

Worst spa experience! I arrive 15 minutes early, like advised. Your aesthetician was running 15 minutes late but no one told me. They just let me sit there for 30 minutes. Then no apology for waiting, no introduction, I didn't even get her name! I had a 50 minute aveda facial appt. and the aesthetician had the personality of a wet blanket. Very unpleasant. AND she shorted me 10 minutes! The entire experience was about 38 minutes long. She had no right to short my appointment to get back on time. Rude. I plan to tell as many people as I can about this terrible experience.

Lessons learned with $105 voucher plus $75 gift certificate going wasted. I purchased three Tropez vouchers from Buywithme in June 2010. I had been having a lot of skin problems since then so I did not want to get a facial which I was afraid would probably make my skin more irritated. After a few visits to my dermatologist and medical treatments, my skin condition improved significantly. It was December and I knew my vouchers would expire on the 26th. I thought it was a good time to redeem the vouchers because the holidays were coming and the facial would probably help with my skin recovery. So I called Tropez before Christmas trying to make appointments but was told by the lady who answered the phone that they were unable to get me booked before Christmas and that they can extend my vouchers through January 15th (she requested my name and the number of all three vouchers). I neither asked for that lady’s name nor requested a written confirmation for the extension which I thought was completely unnecessary. I trusted their operation and their words, which turned out to be a big mistake.
I went to Tropez on the 15th in person. The lady at the reception said that they did not find my name on a piece of paper which according to them has all the customer names whose voucher was extended. However, my name was not found. She told me that they needed to check with the manager and would get back to me next week. I was still so confident at that point that the manager would provide a satisfied solution because I have read some complaints about their customer service online and the responses posted by the manager seemed that they were trying hard to solve the problems and take care of their customers. Today, I received the phone call from the manager. However, she said that because they could not find any records such as my name and phone number, my vouchers are now expired. I explained the situation to her but she sounded like I was lying about everything. I offered to provide my phone record that would show my contact with Tropez before Christmas. The manager agreed and said that “fax it over and we will go from there”. I knew that I made the call from my office phone that day so I talked with our telecom team trying to request a phone log for December. Unfortunately, it was not possible. I work at a big consulting firm and we have so many calls in and out every day so I understood the difficulties of maintaining and extracting such information. I didn't even bother calling the manager back as it was such an insult to me for being looked as a big liar for just a hundred bucks!
I moved to Natick last summer and was very excited to see a salon so close to where I live, and I was planning on making it my go-to place for facials and massages. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing that changed my view on the management and operation of this salon completely. They lost not only me as a customer, but also my trust and recommendations. It is OK they do not care but I do want to share my experience here to hopefully benefit others. The bottom line is, those vouchers were not free gift from the salon, they were purchased. They were wasted because of the operational failures of the salon that they will never admit. To make it worse, they made it sound like you’re lying… How can you trust that they take care of you if they do not trust you?

I was recommended Tropez salon and Day Spa from a friend who currently goes there. I went to get my hair cut and colored as well as a facial. I was extremely happy with my day of beauty. I saw Michelle for my hair and she took her time to understand my needs and explain everything she was going to do. I loved her patience with my questions and her play-by-play so I knew she was really listening to what I wanted. I saw Inna for my facial, which was the best I have ever had. Inna as well really listened to my concerns and took time to focus on my skin care needs. The rest of the staff was very friendly and professional. I was greeted right away and offered a beverage. I would recommend this Salon and Spa to anyone who is looking for above average services in the Boston Area!

I had a coupon from Aveda, Natick Mall: spend $50 on product & receive a coupon for $50 at an Aveda salon. When I used the coupon, they up-charged me $50 which I didn't figure out until later.
The manager was not there, but the stylist & receptionist had it worked out. Dishonest!
