Decently priced food and beer in Fenway.
First, let me be clear about my experience with the Baseball Tavern. I work in a lab nearby, and so I mostly order food for take out here. Occasionally I will sit in for a bite for lunch, and on very rare occasions I'll grab a beer.
Every time I've ordered, service has been ridiculously fast. Like, I can call from my office and pretty much just start walking over and it'll be ready by the time I get there a few minutes later. Their food is decent, burgers juicy, fries crisp and well seasoned, and importantly for a lunch place, cheap.
On the occasions I've sat in, I've found it to be rather dingy, but with very friendly staff. The beer selection is nothing fancy, but it'll do for a quick drink after work.
Two things I've never done here:
1) eat on a game day. I have no plans of ever doing this, everything in the Fenway area becomes a circus, this tiny pub included.
2) eat on the roof. This I definitely must do some day, as it's a nice and tall roof with a decent view of the city. Should be a lovely place to do after dinner beers and burgers, and lots better than the dark downstairs.

from the 7th inning on this place is great!.
OK...so the stairs suck! let me just get that out of the way. I mean really! when i am drunk I do not want to have to walk down two flights of stairs to use the bathroom.
Besides that this place is great! It is like the boston sports hall of fame. they even have a signed picture of LB (lyndon Byers) on the wall that is screwed in. (I think he is more famous since he quit hockey and started working in radio!)
Becareful after the 7th inning of sox games since they stop serving beer @ fenway and people want to get their drink on no matter what.
Good place to hang with your boys before or after a game or when a concert is going on at fenway. Definently a must for the tourist since it has more sports crap then the fenway tour!
