Tips for Zinc Spa

Don't waste your money. My best friend and I decided to have a spa day and I did a google search for Spas in Wrentham as we wanted to stay in the general location. The website for Zinc was inviting and they had good deals going on for the nail packages (or so I thought).

My friend and I walked into the spa and our first impression was the place was a renovated bar to look like a spa. The word "spa" should not be used for this place. When you walk into a good spa, all your senses are energized. You smell calming scents, you see pleasant things, the temperature is perfect, etc. etc. When you walk into this nail place, you smell acetone. The place is cramped and cluttered. It was very warm in there. My instincts told me to turn around and say no thanks, but as I took a vacation day from work and traveled over an hour to get there, I opted to keep the appointment.

I had a massage first. Usually, when you get a massage, the therapist asks you where you want him/her to concentrate the pressure. I usually tell them shoulders and lower back as I am a private person and don't want their hands anywhere else. This man asked me kinda that questions, but he really wasn't paying attention. He massaged my whole body. I was so tense from it that I didn't relax at all. Usually after a good massage, you feel so relaxed you could pass out. I felt nothing. I didn't even feel like I got any rest. Waste. Of. Money.

My pedicure was next. That was the best part, but not worth the price. For what I paid, I expected serious massaging, pampering, etc. It was probably a $20 pedicure. The nail painting, though, was fantastic, I have to give the technician that (and if you don't head the warnings and still go, make sure you ask for the older technician, not the young one...see next paragraph for why)

I ended with a manicure. I asked for the shellac. I also paid for the most expensive nail package. She never touched my hands...no massage, nothing. All she did was put some salts on it and I had to go to a sink and wash my hands. No cream that I can remember. If she did, it was brief and not memorable. The shellac she used was OLD. She was digging at the bottom of the jars. It didn't last 3 days before it started to peel off. It was french manicure and it looked like I just had pink nail polish on. It was soooo sososososoo bad. The worst. EVER.

I usually don't write reviews. But, in this case, I couldn't resist. If I can keep one person from wasting their money there, I will feel better about wasting my own.

Great place to spend time!. The staff at Zinc are very professional and do everything that they can to make their customers feel comfortable and welcomed. My manicures last for at least 2 weeks at a time and I've never experienced that before. I especially love the fact that they use all natural products. The staff at Zinc works hard to find the best products for their customers and sell them at reasonable prices.
