horrible experience.
I am currently going thru the worst experience in my life as a consumer with this company.
We were cold called by them in regards to setting up a demonstration which would include the cleaning of either two carpets, or two peices of furniture to show off the newest model of the Kirby vacuum. Since we are currently on the market for a new vacuum & my parents have had one for years we agreed. The salesman Angel came, spent about 3 hours here and didn't clean ANYTHING - in fact he left a huge mess for me to clean behind him when he left. Despite that we decided to go ahead with the purchae (again since we were familar with the quality). He did a supposed "credit check" told us we were approved and that he would deliver our vac the next day at 11. He also asked for our old vacuum as they recycle them for 'free toilet paper' (no joke). Well, the day went on with no word from him and no vacuum - so I called DMG to find out what was going on. No one could answer my question. The next day same thing, no show, no word. I placed another call - with no results. finally a week later I was told they had lost our paper work and we would have to fill out another application (strange since they had already cashed our down payment check). Annoyed with the service we decided not to go ahead with the Kirby - it was too much work on our behalf. it has now been a MONTH and serveral phone calls to the company and I still haven't gotten my old vacuum back NOR have they refunded the money from the check they cashed.
STAY AWAY FROM DOUGLAS MARKETING!!!!!…

Do NOT Work Here! Please read if you're considering applying. I worked here for 2 months. They promised me when I was hired that I wouldn't have to go door-to-door for demonstrations if I didn't want to, which of course I didn't. They were supposed to call & arrange appointments, so you knew the person was interested. They did that for the first 3 days, all of which were not interested at all, they just wanted their filthy houses cleaned for free, despite that we had to wear nice clothes. Afterwards, I had to stand there & burn my cell phone minutes, while the manager pressured the customer into buying it. They never compensated for cell minutes, or gas, or time traveled. I had to drive as far as Randolph, or to dangerous neighborhoods like Downtown Providence, where my car almost got stolen. If they don't buy, you don't make a dime. If they do buy, which is rarer than they lead on, the customer still has 3 days to cancel, which they often do. Your commissions are terrible, especially when they have to lower the price so much to convince the person to buy. Once they couldn't find appointments for me, I had to go door-to-door, which was horrible. I worked over 30 hours a week, & never made over $100, which I ended up spending more on gas. They like to say that it's your fault for not being a better salesperson, but selling a $3,000 machine to someone you just met is insane for anyone. I joined a van crew to save gas, which was just as bad. The driver would drop me off at the front of a street (even in the rain), & I had to walk the unfamiliar neighborhood, knocking on doors, to be picked up whenever they swung by again. The cops stopped us twice in one week. After the 2 months, I ended up with less money than when I started there, & in debt to my boyfriend. Please, do not make the same mistake I did.…
Love It.
Every time I take out my Machine I laugh as I had a fun couple of hours with Rich Geminiani while he demonstrated the Kirby. The excess dirt and dust was horrifying but Rich was knowledgeable as he
walked me through each of the vacuum's applications with plenty of enthusiasm. Now that I am the lucky recipient of the Kirby I have become a cleaning maniac. Having had psoriasis all of my adult life I fully understand the importance of controlling dust mites. The Kirby is easy to use and accommodates a multitude of chores in a rewarding fashion. Thanks Rich!

excellent proffesional customer service. I had a wonderful experience with this company. The sales person who came to my home to show me this product was funny, friendly and knew the product inside and out. He took his time teaching me how to use it and didn't leave until i was comfortable with it. I would recommend them to anyone who is in the market for fabulous vacuum!…
