WE broke down in our 52,000 lb RV on Rte 25 near Wareham, MA. Our RV club called J&R Towing and they arrived shortly after. They had to get a bigger truck because of the large size of our RV. They took their time hooking us up so they wouldn't damage our coach..they did a great job. They towed us to their repair facility and being late in the day they made sure we would be comfortable and safe for the night. Next morning they got right to work, diagnosed our problem and got it fixed in no time. I thought that the bill was more than fair so we paid and we on our way. We will recommend J&R Towing to anyone!

J & R Towing was held UNFAIR AND DECEPTIVE by the Trial Court of Masachusetts, Small Claims Division, on March 6, 2012. Grinnell v. J & R Towing, Recovery and Repairs, Inc., No. 1160SC001485.
The court awarded DOUBLE PUNITIVE DAMAGES, under the Massachusetts Consumer Protection law, M.G.L. 93A, § 9. The court held J & R Towing knowingly and willingly misrepresented facts to induce the customer to transact; and the customer was harmed by reasonably relying upon J & R Towing’s deception.
Factors the court may have relied upon include: (1) J & R Towing knew, or should have known, it made a promise to deceive the customer to transact; (2) J & R Towing manufactured fraudulent receipts and sought to induce the customer to defraud a third party; (3) J & R Towing would have profited by at least 300% by its deception were it not but for the customer’s knowledge of the law and enforcement of rights; (4) J & R Towing failed to reply, or offer reasonable settlement, in bad faith with knowledge, or reason to know, its acts violated the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Law, chapter 93A, § 2; and (5) J & R Towing failed to appear before the court after reasonable and legally sufficient notice.
THEREFORE, all those seeking to transact with J & R Towing should be informed that on at least one occasion, that company has been adjudicated as using unfair and deceptive business practices as described by the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Law. Further, J & R Towing has acted so that it was FOUND EGREGIOUS ENOUGH TO RISE TO THE HIGH THRESHOLD REQUIRED TO AWARD PUNITIVE DAMAGES under M.G.L. 93A.

Horrible company, terrible service!!!. Both mine and my Mom's cars got towed while we were in Boston because of the recent snow, and the cars being parked on the street in front of her house. We called to find out how much it would cost to bail them out, and to arrange to pick the cars up, and he would only tell us "at LEAST $100 a piece." When my mother asked for an exact amount, he said: "I don't know, You'll have to call me tomorrow after NOON when I can look at the tow slips since I towed over 35 cars tonight." <---(he brags with a cocky manner) I could hear he was at a bar from the sounds in the background. I'm 9 months pregnant and could go into labor anytime now (with just the one car between my bf and I), and he was still unwilling to release the cars. Turns out Wareham PD said they aren't obligated to do business after hours. We called them at 9pm, and then they he tells us to call the next day after 12 NOON?? Sounds to me like they wanted to hold the car longer to charge us more storage fees!!! What a horrible rip off! :x
rip offfff. my car was there for more than a month. when i get a call for it being done the bill was 2100.00 they rip people off and make u feel bad when u ask why your car isnt done. they should only be allowed to tow, fixing cars is not a good quality..
What 'ruckusbringer' fails to mention is exactly what service was done to his / her vehicle, if in fact, it was actually even done here. Judging by his / her moniker and lack of profile information, combined with an inability to complete an inelligible sentence, it's no wonder this user prefers to leave ambiguous and anonymous reviews.

They multiple times extended time of repair of car and added that an other thing that 'they couldn't get that day' had to be fixed - they have an overall bad attitude and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Also, in the time they had my car, they seemed to of had a hard time keeping it in the shape I gave it to them in.
