Editorial Review for Strip-T's Restaurant – by Eric Grossman
The Scene
Located on a quiet side street near the Arsenal Mall, Strip-T's tiny, unassuming storefront won't turn any heads, but its affordable, homemade cuisine will. Though the simple, warm-toned dining room contains about a dozen tables, the restaurant's enough of a secret that there's rarely a wait. Friendly servers update the chalkboard of daily specials and add to the welcoming environment, as does a bargain-basement list of quality, easy-to-drink wines.
The Food
Strip-T's kitchen, which handles a strong catering business, cooks all that it can from scratch (onion rings this thin and crisp couldn't come from a wholesale distributor). Satisfying entrees include smoky marinated-chicken kabobs and grilled ginger-scallion salmon. Dishes are served with a flavorful Caesar salad and a choice of crunchy fries, saffron rice or cheddar mashed potatoes. Homemade cookies are a perfect capper--the chewy chocolate chippers are to die for.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoAlthough Fridays are billed as "Customer Abuse Day," the staff is usually no less good-natured than on any other night.
The ExtrasGrab a tasty coffee drink for the ride home from Buzz, a delightful neighborhood coffeehouse that shares space (and ownership) with the restaurant.

I went here for lunch and was very disappointed. I had the mozzarella, basil and tomato sub. The tomatoes were not fresh and had soaked the roll. The whole thing was inedible. I will not go there again. In addition, on the phone when I was placing the order I tried to ask the woman how long it would take and she hung up on me. The actual restaurant was really warm inside too, I can't imagine actually dining in there comfortably.

Strip T's is the best value in Boston. Seriously great food - all fresh ingredients and absolutely no pretention whatsoever. I highly recommend it whether you are looking for a wasabi-crusted tuno steak or a great salad or sandwich.
Pros: great food
Cons: small
