A venerable club that continues to attract the best professional tennis in the state.. Overview
The Longwood Cricket Club may not be the oldest tennis club in the nation, but it continues to lure the best professional competition in the state. Built in 1877, just weeks after the New Orleans Lawn and Tennis Club, Longwood turns from member-sponsored private club into first-class host as the Association of Tennis Professionals Tour makes the rounds.

Features

The club sports 41 total courts on its grounds. Twenty-five of them are grass, 13 are clay and three hardcourt. There is also a comfortable clubhouse, three pools and plenty of snack bars and lounges. But the general public need only be concerned with the grandstand. First constructed in 1927, it seats 7,500 and there's not a bad seat in the house. For the big events, like the Fed Cup in July, the MFS Pro Championships in August and the Davis Cup in 1999, all three hardcourts are in use.
