Got diabetes?.
There must be a Chinese restaurant operators' association in greater Boston where the members' guiding principal is to feed the Gwai Lo sugar. If so, the owner of Mandarin Gourmet must be the President.
What's wrong with these people?
There was more sugar in each of the three dishesI ordered tonight to take home, than in three servings of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes.

Fast and Tasty. I've been to many chinese restaurants around Brookline and Greater Boston, but I always keep coming back to Mandarin Gourmet. It's never crowded or noisy, the food is not too greasy or sweet, and the complimentary tea is excellent. It definitely beats out the fancier and better known chinese places.

Average at best. Not impressed one bit with this place, food was below average compared to other chinese/mandarin restuarants we've visited. Service was decent but we didn't have to wait to be seated on the weekend, which would explain the food. Is now on my list of places to drive past.

Great service and delicious fresh dishes!.
I really lke this restaurant and go often for not only its delicious dishes, but also the service is excellent. My husband and I usually have the Vegetable tempura, mongolian beef, sparibs on bone, and some kind of vegetable dish. The General Gau is excellent too!

Putterham Circle residents fill Mandarin Gourmet's attractive, imperial-themed interior day and night to share selections from its lengthy menu of familiar Chinese-American favorites and rarer regional specialties (spicy Ma-La lamb, Hunan-style tofu). House favorites include chicken with honey sauce (served in a fried noodle basket) and crispy tangerine shrimp. With dozens of meatless items to choose from, vegetarians are well-served.

Hidden treasure in Putterham Circle. Make your way around the Putterham Circle rotary to discover the best Chinese restaurant in Brookline. It's crowded on the weekends, but there's rarely a long wait. Hard to imagine why, since the food is so good. Veggies are crisp and meat is tender and delicious. My best friend and I go all the time, despite there being at least three dozen Chinese restaurants between Mandarin Gourmet and her apartment in Beacon Hill!
