Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain..
In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.
Don't come here unless you're white. My sister and I decided to have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory in Chestnut Hill, MA yesterday. We were seated fairly promptly as the restaurant was not that busy. However, we waited maybe 30 minutes and still, our waiter (who we saw walk by a few times), did not bother asking if we wanted drinks or appetizers. In fact, after 30 minutes, he did not even introduce himself or say it would just be a little while longer. We watched as the women around us were served their food, and still, my sister and I kept waiting. After 30 minutes, another group of women were seated right next to us and he promptly took their orders, while walking right by my table. At that point, my sister and I decided to leave. I don't know if we were not served because unlike the women all around us, we don't have blonde hair and blue eyes (in fact, we are not even white), or if there's some other less-convincing reason. But she and I were at least expecting to receive some service at this establishment and not treated as if we did not exist. I've never spoken to management about anything concerning problems with service before, but this incident was just too blatant to be kept quiet. I went to speak with the staff behind the counter, but they were not of much help. They simply said, "Sorry", and that was that. In this day and age, I'm frankly appalled that behavior like this is still occurring. Of course, this mentality manifests itself in more subtle ways at times, but this time, it just seemed a little too obvious. I was born and raised in the area where this restaurant is, and have never complained or felt prejudice growing up my hometown. This was very disturbing.
Passable. Note that this Chestnut Hill location in the Atrium is probably a little bit weaker than some other locations. Service tends to be slower and mixed up. Food comes out cold a lot. Waits tend to be long, sometimes just because they aren't very fast to pick up and make the table. Seems like a management issue. We still come here because it's convenient and beats the other Chestnut Hill mall options. Great menu variety and good food (for a chain). Portions are huge, so the value is good even if the per entree price is high. You can split most things between 2.
little bit costly. this atrium mall restaurant is costly stuff for daily eating, though the food is awesome. visited this place during our team's lunch, only 1 time in a month :-(. my colleague's recommendation of this place is wonderful. tried teriyaki-chicken with pineapple, also came with fried banana and oranges (*****) 5 stars because it was awesome and it is so much that I had to skip my dessert after that.
