A real sushi restaurant!. Excellent, authentic sushi restaurant with Japanese owner (Hidemi-san) and outstanding chef (Ito-san) (most sushi restaurants these days are not Japanese!). Excellent sushi, both traditional and creative. The prices are reasonable. We like their special sake's, too, like onikoroshi. The decor is traditional sushi restaurant style, with beautiful prints and samurai armor. Sometimes it is a bit slow if they are crowded, but it is worth the wait. It's family-friendly, and we discovered that many families have been coming there for years. I spend a lot of time in Japan, and this place really captures the quality and friendly atmosphere.

Love the sushi. I have been going to Shogun for many years...they have had the same sushi chef and the food is consistently delicious...Try the spicy tuna roll with Jalapeno....really good

great sushi, authentic japanese dishes, inexpensive. This is a local favororite, but it's worth the commute if you're not from the area. Owned and managed by friendly Japanese people, this food is authentic and tastes like it's fresh from Tokyo. I lived in Japan for a couple of years and was delighted to find a place that reminded me so much of my experience. Regulars will rave about the salads with crispy lettuce and a UNIQUE ginger dressing, but everything from the miso soup to the homemade gyoza dumplings to the katsu don (pork cutlet) are all delicious. It's casual and inexpensive (considering the high quality of sushi), so feel free to experiment with the menu, but be sure to order some sushi and say hi to the chef (Ito). I also thought the dream roll and the seaweed salad from the sushi bar were quite tasty.

wow he's a master!. Order the chef's special! The sushi chef is known by first name by most people who walk in (there are many regulars). He is amazingly gifted, lightning spped and very artistic. The ingredients were fresh and I had seen what othres ordered and had wished I had done the same.
