Editorial Review for Dunn Gaherin's Food & Spirits – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
A relic of a bygone era, Dunn's is that rare neighborhood restaurant that fills several roles for its loyal regulars. With a handful of TVs, the front bar area is a good spot for watching a Sox game with a burger and beer. The rear dining area is usually filled with area couples and families commiserating over pasta dishes, stir-fries and sirloin tips. Irish knick-knacks and Boston sports memorabilia adds to the cozy, local vibe.

This place is great. The service is incredibly friendly and nice. The owner is almost always there and she goes out of her way to make you feel special and cared for. The food is fabulous--we were so surprised at how fresh and high quality everything was at such reasonable prices. The eggplant fries are out of this world. Definitely going back!

Ok, on top of the extremely nice and fast service, the buffalo wings are by far the best i have ever consumed. HANDS DOWN. Heres the trick, they are first tenderized then grilled and the sauce is made from scratch. My recommendations are the beef stew or in a breadbowl, steak tips, and any of their fresh salads. The food is seriously fresh, the bar atmosphere is very welcoming and hometownish. One thing to be weary of, the management does not appreciate the use of vulgarity and profanity, not that its a bad thing, but if you are trying to have a wild guys/girls night out this aint the place... Excellent date spot and the drink menu is great with lots of selection. The prices are a little over the average for a resteraunt and pub, but beleive me, its worth every penny! I'm not one to give reviews of anything for any real reason, and I had to report my findings because more people need to be in on this place!!

Pros: Hometown feel, friendly service

Cons: reservations are a definate on a weekend evening, or the wait can take a while
