Very tasty, clean, fresh food.
Jamjuli is by far my most frequented 'I'm not cooking tonight' restaurant. I've never sat down for a meal here, but the decor is simple and calming. I live around the corner so I always just order takeout or delivery, either way it's always still good and warm by the time I sit down. All the staff members I've talked to have been very sweet and friendly.
I should mention that I know NOTHING about authentic thai food, but good food is good food, and Jamuli is great. It's tasty, semi-fatty but not greasy. The flavors are fresh and clean and you can look at your dish and identify every ingredient (as oppose to some of the area chinese food restaurants for instance). Some of the dishes seem to be inspired by other cultures, like India, and I love that, like the curry puffs (a great appetizer). A few of my regulars are mee grob, pad thai, and the veggie curry (not very spicy, lots of coconut milk, yum!). I'd definitely recommend checking it out
Tasty Thai Delivered.
Ordered the Beef Panang for lunch on a cold day. Delivered nice and warm.
Ingredients seemed very fresh and the portion was plenty for lunch.
It was the first time I had the dish but I was under the impression it came with rice.
Will definitely try again.
Hard-to-find Newton Highlands restaurant provides a relaxed spot in which to enjoy fresh, moderately creative Thai fare..
In Short
Part of a local Thai restaurant empire, Jamjuli provides dressed-down Newtonites with a welcoming destination for familiar favorites (chicken coconut soup, papaya salad) and offbeat options (wild boar basil, roasted duck with mango chutney). Glass-enclosed and tastefully appointed, the dining room provides patrons with a relaxed, comfortable lunch or dinner spot. The lengthy menu features several pan-Asian touches, including Indian spices and Malaysian curries. Cooling ice creams and chilled lychee nuts are available for dessert.
good thai place to try. tried this place already 2 times while going out for lunch. Wild boar plate was awesome, also tasted basil chicken variety. Will definitely go to this place again and again, even though my stomach burns after eating because of spices.
