A salon who has become an extended family member. I love this Salon! My only regret is that my schedule does not allow me more time to spend there to enjoy all the services that they offer. The staff is very welcoming and very attentive, you can feel that from your very first appointment. Make an appointment and have J.Stevens salon become an extended family member, you won't regret it!

An awesome haircut. I have been going to Jenny at J Stevens salon for years now. She is always willing to share her ideas for coloring and cutting my hair when I'm not sure what I want. Jenny is cute and funny and a real joy to go to to get my hair done. I recommend J Stevens and Jenny to anyone who is looking for someone new or is just looking for a change!!

Found J. Stevens on Citysearch - THANK YOU. I hate having to find a new hair stylist. A couple years ago I turned to Citysearch to get recommendations for someplace in Newton and made an appointment at J. Stevens Salon to give it a try. I SO lucked out! As others have raved, Marianne Kaltsunas is a wonderful stylist, colorist, and just an all around fun person to chat with while she works her magic on your hair. The salon environment is comfortable, stylish and super-clean and you're made to feel welcome right away. Perfect for me!

Best Hair Salon. I have been loyal to J Stevens salon for two years since Marianne transformed my hair. I entered J Stevens salon humiliated by bleached out hair which caused severe breakage. I had gone to several salons before J Stevens which were over priced and destroyed my hair. Marianne turned my practically white hair into a beautiful head of natural blonde hair with chocolate brown low-lights. To this day my hair is very healthy and beautiful, not to mention my broken hairs have grown in well. Marianne has always left me satisfied because she listens to what I want and gives me advise to better my decisions. Whether you are looking for a new cut, style or color Marianne at Stevens Salon is the hair dresser for you!

Marianne Kaltsunas is my stylist and colorist. I have been a client for more than 10 years, and that is because I always come away feeling and looking great. Very often strangers stop me, and ask me who cuts my hair. I'm always happy to recommend Marianne. I used to have very short hair but had decided it was time for a change. So I discussed it with Marianne, so I decided I was going to try and grow it out! As anyone who has grown their hair out knows, it's no easy task. Often, I'd want to cut it all off but Marianne would suggest a different part, or trim my bangs, and I'd feel great . So I have successfully grown my hair out and I'm thrilled. Marianne stuck with me, and actually helped me do it!! She very easily could have just cut it all off, but she listened to my goal...and kept reminding me that I wanted it longer. Thanks Marianne! ***** Five stars aren't enough...Marianne and the J.Stevens Salon are a perfect 10!

I love my hair...after I leave J. Stevens!. Jenny has been cutting my hair for the past five years. She makes me feel so welcomed and always gives great advice when I am looking to try something new. Mia gives the best facial I have ever had and M.J. is just like the rest of the salon when it comes to not cutting corners with the nails and toes. I always look forward to how great I will look when I leave. I highly recommend Jenny and all the salon staff for all your beauty needs.

Might be good, but not willing to provide initial consult?!. This might be a great place, but I'd never know since they don't provide consultations on cuts/color. I'm seeking a new stylist and feel that it's extremely important that a salon is willing to sit down with a potential client for at least 10-15mins to discuss ideas. This is generally a service that most salons provide at no fee. It seems a bit remarkable that J. Stevens expects new customers to come in blindly and that they are so arrogant as to not extend this courtesy to potential clients.

Best Place for cut and color. I found this place on City Search after having tried MANY salons in Newton and on Newbury Street. I thought it was a risk to go someplace where i didn't know anyone who had been there. I couldn't be happier I took that chance. This place is so friendly and down to earth. Jenny gives the best cuts and is fabulous with color. You always feel welcomed. They really want their customers to be satisfied with everything. I never have to wait to be taken. Everyone walks out looking really good. Run don't walk to J. Stevens.

my stylist for life!. Jamie is my stylist at J Stevens salon and I have been completely happy with the look of the cuts and highlighting he has given me. I have complete confidence in him because he has made my formerly sad and boring brown hair look beautiful! I get a lot of compliments from family and friends. Admittedly, there are plenty of salons between my home and J Stevens but I have found my perfect match here so the drive is worth it. Besides Jamie's skill, perfectionism and aesthetic sense, he is warm and open and friendly which makes the whole experience a pleasure. Stop in; you won't regret it!

Great Salon, but Fabulous Stylist........ I've been going to J. Stevens for a couple of years now. What a lovely place to relax, enjoy an afternoon, and leave looking just fabulous. Salon is clean, staff is professional, service is ON POINT! I have been going to MARIANNE K. as my stylist for many years 5+. Prior to that I was on Newbury St., Kenmore, everywhere...I have course, curly, pretty hair, but noone could cut it and the color always looked brassy and overprocessed. One day I ran into someone in the parking lot of Bread and Circus. She had the most beautiful hair I had ever seen. Her hair was cut beautifully and the color was phenomenal. I HAD to have her hairdresser. I ran to her like a wild woman. Soon I was in MARIANNE'S chair. There I will stay. If you want the greatest color and cut you've ever had from the ultimate professional - call Marianne NOW! Your days of "hairdresser shopping" are over!!
