Fabulous color. Like many of us, I asked around before trying a new salon. A friend referred me to Jonathan. I have been coming ever since (no need to mention exact number of years).

Jonathan is magic with color and keeps me looking young while covering up my "natural highlights ". No one knows I color except well for now perhaps. The entire staff is like a family and greets you warmly.

The salon is located conveniently to the commuter rail and bus. There is even parking for those who drive.

Awesome salon!!!!. MARIANNE is amazing!!! She has been cutting my hair for over 20 years. I have followed her from salon to salon and believe me it's worth it! Marianne specializes in color and I call her my color chemist! Marianne is a great stylist and I love her flexibility! Would highly recommend Marianne!

great haircut. I had the same hairdresser for 25 years and then I moved to Boston-needless to say finding someone to cut my hair was a priority - and a challenge, I tried at least 4 salons and suffered through some awful haircuts before I found Jonathon atJ. Stevens. He is a master...great haircut every time. I highly recommend him!

I like this place. I have been going to Marianne for haircolor for the past 8 years. I always get complimented on my hair color, which is all I need to know that she's doing a great job! Recently the guy who cuts my hair (at another salon) was unable to fit me in, so I let Marianne cut my hair. She gave me a great hairstyle, and again, compliments from others lets me know I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Everyone at this salon is nice and friendly and I look forward to my visits there.

My favorite and only salon. I am a busy and disorganized guy. For a while I would only think to get my hair cut when I had a function to attend or when one of my colleagues said "maybe you should get a haircut." In those instances I would walk in to see Jenny and ask (beg?) her to please cut my hair. She always found a way to fit me in. However, being a very bright young woman, Jenny found a better solution. Jenny suggested that she could schedule my haircuts for me and call when necessary. It has worked quite well. I look forward to getting my hair cut there. Everyone is friendly and fun to talk to.

Great Salon. I've been going to J. Stevens Salon for many years. I was always happy with my hair, but when I met Jenny, I learned what a truly talented stylist could do. She is the one and only stylist who understands how to do my hair. She allows room for my opinion but is always honest with her ideas, which I appreciate. She will work with you to get the best result and I am very happy she's my stylist.

Finally, a great salon for the whole family. After moving here from NYC, I spent nearly 2 years trying different salons. Until I found Jenny at J Stevens I couldn't find the right hair cut, a place I was comfortable in and a a reasonable rate. Jenny's been cutting my hair now for nearly 2 years and I wouldn't go any where else. Every time, the cut is right and lasts. I get more complements on my haircuts than ever before and I truly enjoy seeing her and the J Stevens staff every time. My 15 year old daughter quickly became Jenny's customer too and wouldn't trust anyone else either.

Jenny also taught us alot about how to care for our hair and we've seen great improvements in the health and condition of our hair as well.

Great place, so glad we found them.

Fabulous & Fun. The staff at J Stevens Salon are fun, funny and fantastic. I love my stylist Jenny she is the best!!! The atmosphere is clean and sleek. There is always a ton of reading materials and candy, yummy! I never feel as if they push products - I hate that. They are open, engaged and real. This is Newbury Street worthy with a working persons prices and atmosphere. Make an appointment, it'll be the best thing you did today.

I Love My New Stylist. JENNY- all I have to say!!! I am so incredibly pleased with my haircut. I have gone to several different hair salons, but with no luck finding an individual who would cut/color the way I want, or even close for that matter. I was so impressed with the way Jenny had cut my sister's hair (the color is beautiful too) that I made the appointment two days later. It has been about two weeks now and everyday I wake up I look forward to the way I will be styling my hair that day. Jenny took her time to help me find the perfect colors (I am extremely picky) and I cannot thank her ENOUGH for her fabulous sense of style, WHAT A TALENT!!! I found my permanent hair dresser, and I am so excited and relieved!Thank you Jenny, keep up the amazing work!!!!

These reviews are very misleading. I found this salon on Citysearch and decided to try it because of the high ratings. However, I can only guess that these are fake reviews posted by the salon. This place is geared toward clients in the 50+ age range especially older men. The woman who cut my hair, while very friendly, hasn't kept up-to-date with hairstyles, cutting, or blowdrying techniques. My hair looked flat and nondescript when I walked out so I went home afterwards to wash and restyle it myself. I was hoping at least that the shape of the cut would be decent but even that looks misshapen and off. Again, very nice people but not the place for a good haircut if you are under 50y or a woman.
