“great food and fun”
“Very good food, good drinks, and the kind of personal service you find in a family owned/operated restaurant.”
“The food was delicious and authentic.”
“beautiful young woman clad in authentic clothing put on a show for a half hour to a variety of Arabic music, it was mesmerizing.”
“Our server was friendly and knowledgable.”
“Take it from an Armenian who grew up on this rich cuisine, Karoun does an excellent job of preparing homestyle, authentic dishes for reasonable prices.”
“It was the best experience I have had for a long time.”
Overall pathetic. We had a horrible experience. I have never seen worse overall service, quality, and treatment of customers. I will never again return!! No VEG entries. I repeat, NO VEG ENTRIES. And very few options in non-veg entries. Music was too loud. Had to yell to be heard. Quantity too less for the money. Over priced.
One of the most authentic restaurants. It was the best experience I have had for a long time. The food was delicious and authentic. The music and decor is truly Armenian very colorfull and the experience was unforgetable. As a matter of fact I am bringing friends next time and know we'll have a great time. Very warm and personable owner and his singing is just the best for romantic dinners. The music is a bit loud, but you can dance and eat and lisen to the music...
Had terrible experience at Karoun.
Soup (Foll) - Overpriced ($7) and way oversalted.
Armenian Salad - Decent, but overpriced ($7).
Lamb Kebob - Meat was quite good, but rice and vegetables were mediocre. Also, rather overpriced ($21)
Garlic Chicken - Again, the meat was good, but the rest left a lot to be desired.
The biggest problem was the service - extremely slow (probably the kitchen's fault), but the waitress had the nerve to add a 20% tip directly onto the bill (fearing, I suppose, that I was going to stiff her, which I wasn't).
There was live music, which was OK except it was about 85 decibles too loud.
Some of the Best Armenian Food in Boston. Take it from an Armenian who grew up on this rich cuisine, Karoun does an excellent job of preparing homestyle, authentic dishes for reasonable prices. I highly reccommend Karoun to anyone with taste buds. At this place you'll find entire families dining after Sunday church services in nearby Watertown churches.. they must be doing something right if Armenians can't stay away. Try the lamb kebab and tsaziki appetizer. DELISH!
