not as bad as the other reviews.
I think this is the best chinese in the Boston area. The prices are very reasonable and portion size fairly large. I got an assortment and enjoyed everything except for the sweet and sour sause. It was a bit strange, kinda tasted like ketchup. Everything else is far superior to other chinese in Boston. It's possible they spruced things up after the terrible reviews. Definitly recommend!

Pro: Delivery Con: About Everything Else.
Not sure how to start without sounding like I have a personal vendetta against this place...but this place is REALLY bad. We ordered a wide range of foods: dumplings, beef with snow peas, spare ribs, pork lo mein, and general gau's chicken. I wish there was a highlight...but there wasn't. The dumplings were wrapped in an ultra thick dumpling wrapper. Spare ribs flavorless. General Gau's chicken disappointing. Etc., ,etc.
We ordered $40 worth of food and proceeded to eat $4 worth before we gave up.
Perhaps we should have gotten all fried food. Perhaps it didn't travel well as it was deliveried. But, all I know, it was bad. Really bad.

Open Late.
The orange-flavored beef was mostly edible. As for the wonton soup, I found a bum who had just dug a half-eaten hot dog out of the garbage. I traded my fresh wonton soup for his half-eaten hot dog. After tasting the soup, he became enraged and washed his mouth out with gutter water.

The Only Place by BU to get Decent Chinese Food.
In general, the Chinese food in Boston is terrible, even in China Town. I do not know why, but Quan's kitchen is a mediocre place to find decent Chinese in the BU area.

Cheap, greasy and good..
The food is cheap, it's greasy and it's pretty darn good. The fried shrimp appetizer was crunchy-good and the brisket soup was a-o-k. The scallion pancakes were fabulous. The entrees were...not great, but I'd go back and try something different. We had the sesame chicken (yuck) and the schezuan shrimp (a heaping portion of peantus with one or two hidden mini-shrimp) was blahh.
Stick to the fried food and kiss a year of your life goodbye.
