Editorial Review for West Street Grill & Tap – by Alison Bulman
The Scene
Oddly situated on the outer rim of a residential neighborhood, this longstanding area landmark is split in half. On one side sits a narrow neighborhood bar catering to occasionally raucous regulars; on the other, a small dining area popular with families and couples. A large paned window separates the two sections, keeping the smoke at bay while you eat. Wait staff is laid back, but mindful.
The Draw
The staff claims its buffalo wings are the best in town: Sure enough, they're meaty, sweet and tender, and pack a punch. An extensive bar food menu offers a pleasing variety of thick, juicy burgers, slightly dry ribs, chicken and steak. Seafood fans opt for fried and baked scallops served with fries and coleslaw, as well as haddock, fried calamari and clams. A surprisingly limited beer menu goes to show that a pint of Guinness is the customers' drink of choice.

The food is way above average, and a pleasant and friendly staff. I am amazed how they put out such an extensive menu out of such a small kitchen. I haven't been disappointed with any menu items I have tried yet. Steak, fresh seafood, chicken, burgers, wings, Cajun, Mexican, like I said lots of choices and all good !!
Pros: They do have an ATM onsite....
Cons: No credit cards.....

Ok, first of all this is NOT the West Street Bar in Boston - there is no dance floor. The steaks and tips are the best around!! The wings are good and spicy and the drinks are tall. The best thing about West Street are the people. It's your typical neighborhood bar/restaurant, where you can feel good walking in and know you'll be made to feel welcome. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Definitely a down to earth , casual place to feel at home in.
Pros: Casual, Great Food, Friendly
Cons: They only take cash!!
