I really am starting to like this place. It's so hard to find any medical office who will give you the time of day to explain stuff to you or treat you like a human and patient. I love that he and the receptionist are so personable.

A few years ago, down-and-out and new to the city, I had no health insurance and a very dangerous tooth issue developing in my jaw. Dr. Swerdlick was willing to see me, despite my marked lack of insurance and status as a lowly, completely broke grad student. He took x-rays and directed me to seek out care at a nearby free dental clinic, and was gentle and straightforward all the while. A couple of years later, when I was finally employed and insured, he was the one and only dentist I wanted to see, and I have been going ever since. He's a riot. Quirky and fun, very gentle and kind. Seriously, I've been terrified of dentists since early childhood, but this man puts me completely at ease. I always look forward to my check-ups; between him and the receptionist, I have *gasp* fun whenever I go. I will dread the day when he retires; I can't imagine putting as much faith in a dentist as I do in this one.
